If Watford came in for Britt

Would we sell ?

I’m quit optimistic about the season but with a few bob to spend after today’s sale their will be in the look out for a replacement . Britt in his final yr of his contract would effectively be a bargain to them

Doucoure is a centre mid but you could see them being interested in him possibly if Deeney leaves

Why would they come in for Britt?

They’ve just signed Glenn Murray and still have Gray, Deeney and Welbeck.

We have 2 forwards who are both decent at this level. They are also entering the final year and on big wages.

It's not ideal. They could both leave at a drop of a hat for a pretty low fee rather than lose for nothing.

We can't sell either as it stands...Absolute bones of ass up top😕

Can’t see them being interested tbh. Given his contract situation we’d probably have to accept any half decent offer for him, shows what a shambles we’ve become. Even if we sold him we wouldn’t re invest the money and even if we did we’d buy some league one spud for a fraction of the fee. Actually think Britt is going to have a good season for us, he looked fitter and sharper from what I’ve seen of him in preseason, maybe he’s playing for a move but think it’s more likely he leaves in the mid season window to a team close to the playoffs or promotion and looking to get over the line. Any team in the playoffs that’s lost a striker to injury will see him as a bargain. Regardless I can’t see him being here next year, not so sure about Fletcher and if we can only keep one it should be him. Even with both off the wage book we’d probably still hear about having to cut costs and balance the books. Squad gets poorer every year.

Its very much like Randolph. Final year and no chance of matching or bettering a new deal.

So they go for nothing or sign on reduced terms (George and Ayala didn't think much to that.... Can't blame them).

I think a bid of even 4-5mil for Britt would 'test us'. I wouldn't fancy us picking up a replacement on the cheap who's 'as good' or better.

What if we got a bid for Fletcher?

Wilson and King leave AFCB to either Villa , Spurs , skunks means they will need a forward . Spurs favourites
Villa want Watkins also , if him and Benrahma go Brentford will need a replacement for one . Villa for Watkins . Skunks miss out on both .
Watford lose Deeney and Wellbeck , they will need a replacement .
A few moves to come yet , and I could see interest in both Britt and Fletcher .

We should be getting one in first👍. To start a season with 2 forwards who both play every week is a recipie for disaster.

I'm not convinced you can call Walker a back up forward. Sonogo's scoring record suggests he isn't a replacement for either (back up and different style maybe).
