And Johnson refuses to sack him, would anyone be prepared to march/travel to Downing street and physically remove Johnson and Cummings and all the other ministers who have publicly supported him. The people are not prepared to put up with the lies and lack of acknowledgement or apology. Government rules by our consent, this and allowing/enabling thousands of people to die in care homes along with the bare faced lie of a protective ring has gone too far for me and is a national disgrace. I am refusing to be governed by such unfit and incapable people, the American's might want to put up with Trump, but I'm so angry, if they won't do what they need to do, let's do it for them. The Tories can pick another leader and carry on, but enough is enough of this disgraceful prime minister and some of his ministers.
 
I think it’d do little good but, once social distancing rules are relaxed I’d happily march in Whitehall. It won’t change the cabinet or their puppet masters attitudes one bit. I’m aware of that but I also believe voter apathy and/ignorance is one of the reasons we are heading to become a dangerous, autocratic state. Getting the point across is important.
 
Surprised we haven't had an online petition yet tbh - one of the ones the government has to respond to if it gets a certain number of signatures

Call it extreme if you like, but I propose we hit it hard and hit it fast with a major -- and I mean major -- leaflet campaign, and while it's reeling from that, we'd follow up with a {whist} drive, a car boot sale, some street theatre and possibly even some benefit concerts. OK? Now, if that's not enough, I'm sorry, it's time for the T-shirts: "Cummings Out" ... "Boris Johnson, No Thanks" ... and if that's not enough, well, I don't know what will be

yeah, I couldn't find that one either, it kept popping up on fb but it seems to have disappeared

The problem is that the majority of people are happy with the current government. For some reason people seem to attribute their belief and the echo chambers they inhabit to be representative of the electorate as a whole. Just like the majority of people were happy with Brexit despite the much bigger anti-brexit demonstrations. People seemed to think then that the turnout was evidence that the country as a whole wanted Brexit stopping when the turnout was still a small minority of vocal dissenters. The reality is that the people you have chosen to see online think like you but you are missing the majority of the population's views (most of which you won't find online, no matter where you look).

Having a "side" is a big part of the problem. If you see everything as Labour good, Tories bad (or vice versa) then you are stuck having to defend everything Labour does and attack everything the Tories do (or vice versa again). This is what most of politics discussion is online but people get tired of defending everything, or being attacked for everything, because it becomes personal once someone speaks up in the opposite direction, and so they seek out a different site that thinks like them. That leaves a one-sided argument which people then extrapolate to the electorate as a whole. The left are disproportionately represented online because of the younger demographic so they have much better memes but they aren't reaching the audience they need to change people's minds. It's just preaching to the choir or in online parlance a circlejerk.

That petition will get a decent number of signatures. It's easy to do, takes no effort but is frankly meaningless. It will not be taken seriously until it gets to the point where it will harm their chances of re-election.
 
Boromike, generally a petition for a change of law or amendment, once it reaches 100,000 signatures is debated in parliament. I am not sure if there is relevant precedence or guidance for a sack an employee petition. I suspect not because that is purely a decision for Johnson, not parliament
 
Excellent point well made BM. See the Brexit petition the hysteria and running commentary on how many signatures it had was bordering on comical.

It a little bit like the block feature on here. People blocking others for having a different political outlook. It only shows one thing, and that’s you only want to hear one side of the political argument
