I don't think mentioning someone by using coded initials is very respectful personally.

Sorry if that sounds harsh but maybe if you feel you have to use initials it's a private matter? Or you could name them and honour them respectfully.

That's my point too. I'm not being disrespectful to the man who died. No man is an island etc and it's really sad news.

My thoughts are just if you have to go public with a coded message, maybe you shouldn't go public at all. Keep it private and respectful or name the poor chap so people can post appropriate condolences to him and his family.
