How is an app on a phone going to protect you - if you’ve had a vaccine you’re protected aren’t you ? Or what was the point in having one

They’ll never be rescinded that’s why - they have absolutely nothing to do with protecting anyone from Covid. I’ve yet to see anyone give a worthy explanation of how they will protect anyone whatsoever, and there’s absolutely no logic to them unless they were to be used in every possible public setting

Chicken I have few doubts that the system on the phone is open to - lets say - misuse

The vaccine provides a measure of protection and its the best we have. I'd be happy to do so providing it applies to all

But if that is what you believe, then you have the choice but it just seems a bit self defeating.
 
Right now the Government are weighing up two options

1. Continue with social distancing for a further year and bars/restaurants can only open up at 40% capacity
2. Adopt the vaccine passport and re-open everything fully

Showing a vaccine passport on entry is hardly giving a pub your medical records. It doesn’t differ from going on holiday to some countries where yellow fever vaccines are mandatory to enter. For me, I’m happy to show a card if it means we can return to normal life

Looks like a forerunner to a social credit system as in China to me - certainly don’t want that forced on us. Your life would basically revolve around an app on a phone - no thanks

I am with funky on this and I have already been vaccinated.

Last year it was Eotho and get back to the office and waste money on pret.

This year when the vulnerable are far more protected this crap government want to increase restrictions not reduce them.

Each to their own, of course.

Nobody can explain it. It's right there in black and white straight from the fat, yellow floppy haired tosser's mouth.

The vaccine works or it doesn't. It's as simple as that. If two people are fully vaccinated then there is absolutely no reason they cannot meet indoors.

How do you know?? Once we have got to a level of what is deemed an acceptable infection rate, like the flu, then there wouldn’t be a need for the COVID passport, it is only a means to an end, to ensure the infection rate continues to fall.
