I think it is an example of what psychologists started labelling "post-choice disonnance" about 60 years ago. It was mainly looked at in consumer behaviour, especially if the choice could have been potentially close, and you may have chosen the rejected option.

People need to find a way to engage with others that do not share their view.

Just saying the Tories are **** will entrench the opinion that infact you're a knob and they were right to vote for them.

Even just listing a bunch of their corruption and failings won't help.

It needs to come from common ground and then describe what Labour could offer to be different.

The press and the social media control it all now anyway, they decide who better suits them and push you to vote that way.

That said it's all a much of a muchness now anyway. What was it you said @r00fie1 about the Tories punching you and Labour punching you with a glove on? Was very apt.
