I hate the modern world

536 A.D - now that was a shocker.

the life span we have been delivered into is the only experiences we will have, the ups and the downs are all part of life's rich tapestry - its a challenge at times, not surprising, we are only human.

the sunshine will be out again.

Thatcher responded to those in power, the wealthy, they used the press and various pressure groups to spread the word that equality was a bad idea.

They used fabricated accounts of events (interestingly the same group shouting 'fake news' today) to persuade the working class to back them.

They fell for it hook, line and sinker and did so again in 2016 and more recently 2019.

One of her ' get on board capitalism ' ride was selling the council houses to working class recruits .

I hate not being able to watch a TV show or film without knowing a spoiler months in advance.... Real modern day problems 😂

At least such commodities as respect and togetherness were prevalent back then.
You're certainly not alone in that respect Scoobs! There's a real sense of entitlement amongst many people these days, particularly the under 30's, and this pandemic has brought that out in people even more. Maybe I'm just unlucky where I live, I don't know.
I often wonder what it would have been like to have lived during the second world war. I've heard the stories first hand, and as awful as it must have been, there was also that element of national spirit and pride, which seems missing today.

Turn off the TV, stay way from the news, internet etc and do the things that truly make you happy. Look after yourself first and foremost!
I do do that mate, unfortunately even when I strictly indulge in things I enjoy, my mind will never let up or give me a minutes peace. And therein lies the problem. OCD is far more damaging than people realise. I just want something to take the torture away.

Isn't the sense of national spirit and pride what caused those wars in the first place? It didn't all just start with the Germans.

I'm not on board with blaming youth, personally. They didn't ask to be born and who should raise them, or when, or how.
