I hate the modern world

Take yourself of all social media.

Don’t make crass uneducated comments about world wars and then just flip them off. Read about how horrific it was to live through the world wars.

Don’t expect posters to know your medical history. Everyone has their own issues.

Sadly, I believe your negativity brings you more negativity.

There is so much wrong with everything you've just written there, I don't even have the energy to explain. But that's ok, you're entitled to your views.

Ironically, I'd say being able to brush off the thoughts and opinions of people on social media, as you have here, is a very admirable and acquired skill in the modern world.

Certainly use the ignore button, my fmttm is much nicer since I ignored two really sad feckers .One of which must be responder 41 on this thread. I don't have to react to the down right nastiness of the odd poisened soul on here. There are plenty of really nice people to engage with ( as is shown on this thread).
I know it's near impossible now but try to engage with others at least once a day. A neighbour, a shop assistant anyone. Just a few words will help. Go for a walk. Try to focus on the future not the past or the now.

Everything. I hate it. I feel nothing but pessimism and antipathy about humanity and its future.
Maybe that could be your starting point Scub’s......try not to over think everything. Just concentrate on your little bit of humanity and what you can do to effect it. No good worrying about something that hasn’t happened or something that you can do nothing about. We all know that the government and the media are never satisfied unless they’re frightening the sh1te out of us.....it’s how they keep people down!
The good side of humanity will get us through this pandemic, I’ve been watching Doctors at the Edge of Life in absolute awe at what humans can do. There’s far more of those type of people and us on here than there is of the greed and hate brigade. Together we’ll all pull through this but don’t stay silent because even if it’s only on here there’s always someone around day or night.

Interestingly enough, whilst I share some of the thoughts on this thread, there have been many studies with available reports that the world is, in every measurable metric, getting better.

For example, extreme poverty is reducing almost year on year, believe it or not. In 1820 it is estimated that 95% of the world lived in extreme poverty, today that is about 15%.

Literacy has moved from 20% of the population to over 80% of the population since the 18 hundreds. Even in more recent years it is declining.

Global child mortality has reduced from around 40% in the 18 hundreds to just a few percent now and continues to decline.

Over half the planet live in a democracy today, in the 1950's it was less than 20%.

In every way measurable, the world is a better place. Levels of anxiety are higher than even 10 years ago, there is, absolutely a doom and gloom feel to where the world is heading. It is believed that this is largely to do with 2 factors.

Firstly damn 24 hour news. We hear more bad stuff, not because there is more bad stuff, but because it is reported in more sources, on our social media feeds on 24 hour news channels.

Secondly the news does not report what is going right, it reports what is going wrong in the world. You may, if lucky, see a closing news article on the news at 10 about a parrot getting rescued from a roof by a fireman, then telling the fireman to f-off.

The world is, undeniably a better place, we just don't see it that way.
