I feel an incoming today

Looking forward to the "incomings" from relegated Cardiff, and maybe a rising star from Preston North End or Stoke City?
Maybe Reading or Crewe Alexandra?
Carlisle might have a few hidden gems, and Whitby Town......

To have signed nobody at this stage of a pre-season - considering we employ a ‘head of football’ and a recruitment and scouting department and have known about the glaring holes and deficiencies in our team and squad for at least a full 6 months - is, in my opinion, absolutely shocking.

This idea that loads of players are going to turn up in the next 4,5 weeks and everything will be fine… it isn’t going to happen. We’re going to finish 9th and we’re going to try and be better in 2027.

The red flags were there when Edwards was talking about needing time and whatnot. The point of having a ‘head of football’ and a ‘model’ is that it’s supposed to bring a sense of seamlessness, an end to 2 or 3 year eras or rebuilds. Yet we find ourselves in the middle of yet another rebuild and in a weaker position now than we were in May.

It’s not right. The red flags are there imo. They have been there for at least a year and they are as vivid as ever. In my opinion.
The end of “seamlessness” at the Club ended when we sacked Carrick and appointed a completely different type of manager. I am surprised you expected anything else to be frank. I don’t want to repeat the debate we had when we appointed Edwards but he has a different style of play and he hasn’t seen any of the squad so how could he know who he wants and who to retain?

I have to smile when I read people surprised at lack of continuity after you have sacked a manager and his entire back room team. What more did you expect? You are placing too much reliance on an “administrator” to keep the momentum going.
