I’m sick of dogs

Don't mind dogs. I would love a little one but me and my missues work funny hours and we live in a flat.

The only issue I have is with the owners who don't pick up dog sh*t. That's not the dogs fault. Especially as i often go out for a run.

I don't need to be running with my head down like I'm in a minefield (you need your head up to avoid escooters/cyclists and people not indicating when running accross junctions... Going off on a running tangent😂).

Just pick up the turds and I'm happy with dogs.

"There are good and bad dogs (sometimes at the same time)"

There are NO bad dogs, just bad owners.
Can’t always blame the current dog owner either I’ve rescued a couple of dogs in the past that have taken a fair while to settle in and become good dogs and be trained out of poor past behaviours.

I counted 5 piles of dog **** walking to my daughter's school yesterday.

There are trails of dog p155 across the footpath.

How is this acceptable?

It’s all well and good people whinging about dogs but let’s face it, people are 1000 times worse.

They cause more damage to the environment, more likely to hurt or injure someone, more likely to cause a public nuisance, most bad dog behaviour is the result of peoples actions also.

Question for those that want taxes etc for ownership, should we also put a tax in place for parents so that only those that can afford to raise children have them as well so as to discourage poor parents / owners from having them.

There should be a small piece of land in each area where dog owners can let their dogs run free, its maintenance paid for through a local dog licence scheme. There was one near where we lived in Houston, the dog owners appeared to love it, a great place for socialising and it kept the rest of the park free from dogs pestering people.

Keep dogs on leads, clean up the mess and they're no problem. Off the lead on the beach or in parks and near country walks they are.

Lemmy I love dogs but that is like saying they're is no bad humans only bad parents.
There are only bad parents. Whilst doing my counselling training, I read a book by Hearns & Thorne on person centred counselling and every parent should be made to read it.

Dogs are the same and need love, nurturing and boundaries. I am having my sons dog today and in his house it is really boisterous. When he comes to ours, he settles and is well behaved.

Caring for and bringing up dogs can be hard work, just like children. You can bring either up lazily but the results are likely to be similar - feral wee things with no boundaries. God, I sound like Victorian Dad!
But it is true Harry, the more time you put into them, the better they are - And that goes for both.

Not a dog fan, nothing against them but I think there’s too many about where I am. Or maybe I’ll rephrase, there’s too many scruffy owners about, can’t really blame the dogs.

Where I currently live theres lovely grass areas and small tree areas but I can’t let my daughter run about because there’s sh*te everywhere, no one picks up after them here. In winter when it’s piled with snow you can see the brown and yellow stains all over. Horrible, not the dogs fault obviously but there’s no respect for other people from the owners.

I’ve seen some disgusting sights back home, old next door neighbours letting their dogs business build up all over their garden. Dropping an eBay item off for someone near Newcastle and their house stank of muck with poo all over the drive and up into the house, can’t see how people can live like that.

Loads of great dogs and responsible owners out there so I hope no one takes my mini-rant personally, but there’s a fair few bad, irresponsible and lazy owners around that shouldn’t be anywhere near animals.

I’m a dog convert - I used to dislike them but we joined borrowmydoggy and we have had two dogs for about four years - they are bonkers but after walking them I generally feel in a better mood. I don’t like doing the poop thing but I do it of course!!

cats on the overhand ughhhh

I usually take the bike on a shared trail with dog walkers and it really shocks me just how daft some of them are, someone coming towards you at 30+ on a bike yet they will wait until the last second or even not at all to put them on a leader

The one I dislike is the owners cleaning up after their dogs and then discarding the bag with poop in. Usually in a bush or a tree.
