I’ll probably upset everyone but

Heaven forbid @FatCat that if you ever fall into a position of such vulnerability that you never require help from someone as equally minded as you.

Absolutely pathetic OP.
They are not in a vulnerable position - they have received refuge - they have a roof over their heads and are receiving education.

Tonight I’ll go to my mates for dinner if his mum gives me a sandwich instead of steak I’ll tell her it’s not acceptable and demand steak! Let’s see how I get on!

Sorry, you probably answered the wrong question there.

My question was:

So if this was a victim of domestic abuse living in a hostel with her kids you'd support them being moved against their will a couple of hundreds of miles?
I think they answered the right question but did the usual Tory trick of talking around it instead of just saying 'yes'.

If she asks to see your passport and you don't have a new UK one and she makes the decision based on that, I hope you call her out.

You really are a clown.

I’m not asking anybody for help though am I?
Lets hope that your luck holds and you never have to, because nobody is immune from circumstances that means they require assistance, I'm sure every person in need of an organ donation never expects to be in that position for example.

If you were rescued from a fire should the firefighter dictate how and where you should live your life thereafter ?

Asylum is not charity we have to stop looking at it in that way.

Where does this stop ? Should a family on benefits lose their right to chose the area they live in ? Should pensioners be made to relocate by the government ?

According to the Tories, the answer to those questions is yes.

They hardly had laid down roots in london they had barely been there.

Many councils invoke that policy because they simply can’t afford to house people in london and the benefits amount will not cover the rent required to live in london. What’s the answer given there is no magic money tree for this ? Should a nurse who is working in london who also can’t afford rent be prioritised over someone on benefits?

These arguments are all well and good but as always on here take no account for the actual cost of things.

Why nurses and not other public sector workers?

They aren't even housed yet in either area.

It’s funny isn’t it, you can mock all you want. There is a shortage of housing in the country , in london, you happy to pay private landlords just because someone proclaims they prefer london over say Middlesbrough.
There isn't a shortage of housing at all. Affordable housing maybe, but there are hundreds of thousands of empty homes.

You have evidence that this family 'chose' London do you?
