Human League - Dare 40 Tour

All things considered, Dare is probably my favourite album ever now. Always loved Open Your Heart and, as others have said, quickly tired of Don't You Want Me as it got played to death at the time (Christmas number 1 in 1981 if I recall correctly??). I have the gatefold sleeve album in the loft back in Boro.

I saw the Human League play live at Redcar Rocks a few years ago and they were excellent, so I'm sure this would be a great tour!

Just saw this in the FAQ while checking who was supporting. Personally I hate Don't you want me. I didn't always but it's been played to death and beyond. The list also can't be complete because Being Boiled is missing.

'Seconds' has always been my favourite track. Still sounds amazing today. GREAT album and I'd love to see them. And Suzanne still looks great!

Seen them 5 times on the last few years and they’ve been mega every time

The best one was when they played Redcar and the tickets were a tenner on groupon

That list is a lie because together in electric dreams is their best song (and the way he tells it live is it’s mad it’s a shared credit because moroder apparently did very little!) but conscious it’s not considered human league by most
Where in Redcar? The Coatham Bowl before it was knocked down?

Not sure really don’t know Redcar that well, was like an event centre with an indoor and outdoor bit. Mini music festival headlined by them. We were gonna get tickets anyway but they must have sold terribly and wound up on groupon. Think they were on wire early as it was light. Well worth the money. Weird gif though. I remember there being. Silent disco !

Just found the groupon page... £9.90!

I was there, it was outside near Coatham Boating Lake. Can't remember any other bands but Human League were superb.

Headliners The Human League will be supported on the main stage by Middlesbrough indie rock band Collectors Club; London six piece Goldheart Assembly and Darlington duo Beach.

Bessie and the Zinc Buckets bring a mix of sounds to the stage and The Stockton to Darlington Ukulele Express has more than 20 instrument aficionados from around the region.

The comedy stage boasts a not-to-be-missed line up which includes Jason Cook, who created and starred in BBC2 sitcom Hebburn, Jonathan Mayor, Brennan Reece, Andy White and Hebburn star Steffen Peddie.

There’ll also be an intro stage playing host to up and coming acts including Middlesbrough singer songwriter Heather Story and Teessiders Red 16.

Organiser Paul Mitchell said Redcar Rocks is all about creating a buzz around the town.

“It has been great working with the team at Tuned In!, the venue for the event, their enthusiasm and can-do attitude have made it easy to get the event organised and staged,” he said.
