Hull move for Carvalho

They look to be front of the queue to get Fabio Carvalho on loan following his return from Germany.

He could be the real difference maker for a team in our league, could push a team into 6th instead of 8th.

Similar to our Archer signing (albeit different position) but he is real class at our level.

He's really struggled for game time but still a player is like here, that being said, I'm happy we've moved away from ant loan heavy route and gone permanent with Azzaz. Makes it easier when they aren't there anymore come July 😂

1 in 2 goal contributions for Fulham in the Championship two seasons ago - they battered a few teams 6-0 and 7-0 as well I think where he scored and assisted 2 or 3.

Surprised other teams aren't in for him.

I can not work that out. Makes absolutely no sense.
It does a bit. I know what he means. A player good enough to guarantee automatic promotion for a team comfortably going to make the playoffs anyway means the expected return on investment is good. E.g. If it costs £5m to loan a player for a season which gets you a 50% chance at autos then the expected chance of a return of £100m for promotion is 50% for autos + (25%*50%) for playoffs = 62.5% of earning £100m but from 8th to 6th is 50% chance of making the playoffs is (25%*50%)+(50%*0%) for failing is only 12.5% chance of earning £100m. That means there is still an 87.5% chance of that investment not returning anything. It's £5m to avoid the 75% chance of losing the playoffs vs £5m to give a 25% of winning the playoffs.

In the long run spending big money on low return, high cost, short term investments is bad business and is what we have been doing for the best part of the last 15 years.

Hull have funds that other championship clubs outside the Top 4 haven’t perhaps. His wages won’t be cheap.

If the team were going to finish 8th they weren't comfortably making the play-offs.

His 8th to 6th makes no sense, it would have made sense if he'd said 6th to 4th.

Why doesnt it? ... I dont quite follow yours now?? haha ... 6th to 4th is almost irrelevant.

8th not in play offs, a player comes in on loan could make the difference to finishing 6th, in play offs.

There was no specifics on teams.

That's not what was said. The comparison was a team 4th to 2nd (aka comfortably in the playoffs, looking to finish autos) vs a team 8th to 6th (outside the playoffs looking to finish inside the playoffs).

Brilliant signing for Hull. I had a bet on Hull finishing in playoffs at start of season. Good manager.

I think Liverpool wanted guaranteed game time hence he hasn’t gone to Southampton who wanted him also.
