Huddersfield Town

Restricting the away support to 2300 hasn't helped much either. Honestly, I can't understand why the EFL, club creditors or whoever are not questioning things like this more. They are playing in a stadium that is nigh on empty most games, surely it makes sense, especially with their current predicament, to find an alternative to offer more away tickets. If they could somehow double up our allocation then whats that, another 100K in the coffers? Do that for another few games and it's a good chunk of change coming into the club.
The EFL don’t seem to make it easy or straightforward do they?

Clubs should not be allowed to ‘owe’ (default as opposed to the usual amortisation/staged payments) £18m on transfers and expect to be allowed to continue in the hope of going up. Simply isn’t fair on the clubs who don’t default.

I would guess there was a reason behind the late filing. If all was fine I bet they'd have made the deadline.
And if you read Burnley's explanation there's nothing to see and even if your guess has some truth their upcoming promotion should see them right

We believe transparency in these matters is paramount and we want to explain why this has happened.

"In our continued efforts to improve and move forward Burnley Football Club we made the decision to change our auditors in November and the transition has taken longer than we anticipated.

We can confirm that we have provided draft accounts and financial information to the EFL’s Club Financial Reporting Unit and we continue to have regular dialogue with the unit to ensure we remain as open and as transparent and answer any questions the League may have.

We believe the EFL will have no issue with the detail of our accounts other than their late submission and fully understand and support their position and efforts to sanction any club who fails to comply with any of their regulations.

Both the Club and our new auditors are confident this can be resolved swiftly and we hope our submission will be made next month at which point the embargo will be lifted.

We once again wish to assure supporters this will have no detriment to the ongoing success and development of the Club as we move forward."

Huddersfield also sold two of their best players to Forest at the start of the season - O'brien and Toffalo. Can't remember them spending much either. Must be in dire straits financially if in danger of administration.

Heard this excuse before elsewhere. Very convenient.

Just shows how unsustainable the football world has got. I think most of our fans' eyes glaze over when Gibson says things about staying within the FFP. We have had some ups and downs over the last 20 years and the downs almost certainly pay for the ups. Sheffield Utd and Burnley NEED a promotion it's a red line in their business model. High stakes. I would hate to be a Sheff Utd fan right now because of the gamble. Making promotion a necessity to avoid administration takes the joy out of the competition.

Hope all turn out ok (Sheff Utd can come up through the play-offs if they like).
