Howson

The odd thing with Howson is that he's actually been at his best during his time here when he's played in a deeper role
We have form for that dont we, Mogga turned Nicky Bailey into a half-decent holding midfielder and Adam Clayton was epic in that role, but couldn't hit a cow's ar5e with a shovel either!

I wasn’t a big fan for a couple of seasons and struggled to see what impact he had on games, but he won me over and then some! He’s been a fantastic player for several seasons now, and I’d love nothing more than for him to score the goal that sends us up!
As already mentioned, his performance in the Spurs match was unbelievable.
9.5/10 signing.

I would say from 2017 - 2020 he was very much a 6/10. Not many memorable moments, a semi-decent spell as part of a back 3 and his goal against Millwall in the play-off season being the highlights.

2020 - 2023 he is a different sort of player and one that when we play without we don’t look the same team. His performance against Spurs in the cup was one of the best I’ve ever seen in a Boro shirt. 8/10, will be a 9/10 if he lights the play-off winners trophy in May.
