Whats everyones opinion on this?

Im torn personally - part of me just wants him to get the booking asap so he's back for the run in. Another part doesn't want to lose him from the team.

If we don't get automatic, it would be an absolute disaster if he got booked further down the line and missed some of the playoff games, his playoff (and general) experience would be vital.

Im leaning towards wanting him to get booked next game i think.
 
I'd sooner he just didn't get it.

It's 10 yellows up to and including the 37th match for a 2 match ban.

Tomorrow is the 37th game, once that's passed 10 yellows doesn't lead to anything.

if he avoids a yellow tomorrow, he's very unlikely to get to the 15 yellows before the end of the season that would give a 3 match ban.
 
I'm not sure, but I think it usually lines up with the Easter international break

Considering he was picking up yellows at a rate of knots, I'm actually really pleased he's managed to get up to the last relevant match on 9 bookings.

I'm sure they'll have made him well aware of the ban looming.
 
Hopefully we are 2-0 up (or better) around 60/70 mins and we can potentially look to take him off for Barlaser, providing he's not been booked...helps keep him fresh for Preston too.
 
Stoke is such an important game, but I think I would actually start Barlasar. Howson could always be brought on at half time if things aren’t going well, but if we start him and bring him off, there’s no way of getting him back on the pitch if we loose control of the midfield.
 
I think we might see some rotation for these two games anyway, with playing Saturday, Tuesday and Saturday. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Barlaser, Forss and Fry start tomorrow or Saturday.

I think he'll start , will just be told not to get a 'silly' yellow . Necessary yellows are necessary - that's the way it is.
 
With the possession football we are playing at the moment, it is the opposition who are picking up yellows. (y)

Exactly this.

Absolutely no stats/evidence for this, but I always felt Howson's bookings were for a lot of little niggly things he could easily cut out - little shirt pulls in the midfield when we already looked to have cover, for example. The fact we control games so much has meant he hasn't been put in too many scenarios where he'd have to do that. Needs to start tomorrow, and I'm sure he's intelligent enough to not do anything unnecessary.
 
His last booking was a deliberate tactical foul against Sheffield United where I'd say he was entirely justified in making the foul.

Though I can't pretend I remember the circumstances of the other 8.
