How were fellow moaners VE evenings events

Put a table out front for wife & daughter who spent most of day chatting at considerable distance to neighbours with early tea and scones wife made this morning. I went for a 4.5 mile walk, then did a bit of rowing. Later it was me out back doing the home made whisky burgers 'n' fries with beef tomatoes, onions, lettuce and various sauces & bringing them out for evening meal.

Was working out very nicely actually - then it rained a bit so eveyone scarpered in, one of the neighbours had a fall and has hurt her back pretty bad. A few came out later for a bit more banter but the rain & injury killed the moment it seemed.

Not a bad day - certainly lifted me a little more with even the at a distance craic.

Oh and the wine I mentioned earlier is really nice and we had to open a 2nd bottle :)

Similar day to that mentioned by stf but no walk or rowing machine. Popped out to cut the lawns at 11 and was still out at 9. Very enjoyable day.

My road with some tables set out in front of respective house, flags & buntings everywhere, with a Vera Lynn 21:00 hours sing a long, unfortunately I'm at work so unable to sing along
Had a great day from start to finish. I popped round my dads (84 years of age) with his groceries this morning and he was sat on the front at 11am with a can. He’s never drunk in or around the house. I sent a picture of our ‘shameless’ to my sisters sat in his Royal Marines Beret.
Returned to mine and have been out the front talking to passers bye all day. Close neighbours came and sat in the front garden with us and we just chatted about nothing over drinks.

What a great day.

Egglescliffe village had a commemoration day on the green . Lots of elderly in the village so a fab turnout . Loads of bunting and appropriately spaced tables/chairs and everyone within ear shot . Nice touch was loads of veterans sporting their colours .
All overshadowed by a cracking sound system . One wonders what it would of been like with mingling . Great day
