How much of this is believable I don't know.....

I've heard of the British having better rations before, and of POWs in this country getting better food than they would in Germany, certainly in the latter stages of the war.

The last paragraph interested me. I always remember my Grandad telling me that having fought in WW1 his Dad could never understand why we were fighting with the French against the Germans. He'd said that the Germans they'd met were polite and civilised but he had nothing good to say about the French.

As someone who’s married to a girl who was born and raised in Germany I can only say that all the Germans I’ve met have been incredibly polite and friendly. I would say on there’s a great sadness with most German people at what happened with Hitler and the nazis

The raitioning is right.

Our soldiers were well fed throughout the war, far better than the German soldiers. Our civilians were pretty well fed also. The German civilians were short of everything throughout the war but especially from 1942.

The French civilians in the countryside were also pretty well fed but there were shortages in the cities as the Germans stole all their vehicles so food stayed in the countryside.
