How much is a pint in your local

I went in to pub today and it was £6.40 for a pint of Peroni (I didn't have it, but the Mrs had 2 halves).

Just to add I think Carling was £3.40 in my local before lockdown, which is also ludicrous

Not my local - neither of them open yet - but the pub today was a fiver for a Chieftain IPA and £4 for an Ilkley pale. Was a slightly overpriced pub all all round though.

3.90 for carling in my local, was 3.40 befoe lockdown, but they do serve half the poepl requiring twice the staff to do so, so I am grateful.

I went for for a drink tonight in Stockton for the first time and most expensive pint was £5.80 which surprised me. £4/4.50ish seemed to be norm in the bar we were in with £3.50 the cheapest.

I don’t really have a specific local, but you won’t really get a pint of anything for less than a fiver round here. Maybe £4.50 for the absolute cheapest.

EDIT: just checked and I think you have to drink MPA (in any of the pubs near me) to get down towards £4. And imho that’s hideous and not worth the sacrifice.

Why is Peroni so expensive ? Surely it's cheaper to brew than real ale...and on a par with other lagers ???
It has branded itself as being more upmarket than other lagers and is very popular, so it’s supply and demand. See also Birra Moretti.

I’ve no idea how though as it tastes virtually identical to most other premium strength/4.8% lagers in my opinion.

12 dollars here if you want something better than the horrible brown fizz that passes as the commercial beer. Which is £6.22. Nz is expensive, but I suppose at least I can go to the pub.

I remember going to a business thing in a hotel in Grosvenor Square, London about 8-9 years ago. Went to the bar beforehand purely to get away from the suits and smalltalk, and ended up paying £7 for a 25cl bottle of Bud.

I remember stopping at a small cafe bar in Pisa and having a bottle of Birra Moretti, only €1.75.
As for the OP £2.49 for a pint of John Smiths in the Southern Cross .

You can buy asahi in NZ cheaper than here though.

Last time I went through Newcastle, pre lockdown, it was £6.99 for a pint of Peroni, which seemed outrageous.
Mind you £4.50 or so for a warm, small can of Stella on the plane is even worse.

I think it was about £5 for a pint of Moretti, but let's face it when you just wave a card and usually don't see a receipt for your goods in most places who is going to complain. Life's too short.
