Sold players
Maybe sell some more

But

How much have we got to spend ?
We are not the boro from the 90’s
No more marquee signings without prem lge cash

Only Steve Gibson knows the answer to that question, It won't be as simple as we've brought in 25m therefore we have 25m to spend, in reality I would guess maybe half of that unless we do some more wheeling and dealing

The two big money sales I'd guess weren't on big wages. When we look at replacing them we haven't simply got to take the transfer fee into account. Ridiculous wages makes the fee less relevant.

We need to forget about going for players now. There is way too much to do to improve enough for a promotion push, that is not happening, the whole spine of the team is weak and you cannot replace that spine adequately for promotion for 30 million. Id like us to consolidate and bring young lads through. Keep that money and stay stable, if we were only a few players away from being close I may feel different but were miles off. Were also in no danger of going down so just keep the ship steady and bank the cash. I enjoy it regardless and yes wilder will probably leave which is anshame, but I'd rather have a club that can challenge in the future than blow the 30 million we've banked on a side that definitely can't get promoted

There have been plenty of teams who have done really well or been promoted having spent less then a couple of million. There are even more clubs who have spent multi millions and achieved nothing.

Getting the right players, in the right positions setting the right culture, playing the style you want and a bit of luck are probably more important than how much you spend.

This isbtrue, so let's not spend 30 million quid. Lets be sensible and try to do this on a budget. There are plenty of teams ala Derby who have tried to buy their way up, I think it would be disastrous to gamble on adding huge transfers to this core group, which is mentally not there for me, id take some time over this, this is notnl a group of players that can achieve promotion, let's get behind them but understand where we are and don't berate them for not being as good as we though they should be.

Agree with this, our second promotion in a row sealed against Chelsea that most older fans will remember only too well backs this up.

As does unfortunately our dalliances under The Monk.

Wilder is not as hot a property as you and he thinks he is

there will be more than a few current PL and CShip managers available in Dec/Jan or even earlier. And if he leaves it will cost nothing to replace him. He is the most dispensiible member of the whole team.

15 mil I'd say at a guess
Probably not far off, we know we’ve offered around 8 or 9 for Larsen and about 5 for greaves so that means we’ve at least 13-14 left in the kitty to spend after hoppe and Forss that means we’ve made around 18.5 million available for transfer fees. That’s not bad and many of our whinging fans need a reality check.

Whatever it is, it’s not as much as it should be….
According to some on here, we should have raked in between 40-50 million for Spence and Tav….
If only the rest of the footballing world valued our players as highly as we do.
