How modern life makes us lazy

Lazy is... fitting Zigbee lights and switches and an amazon echo so you don't have to get up off the sofa to turn the light on at the switch which is 6 foot away from the sofa.

I definitely didn't do that.

honest.

There's an increasing number of drivers who, like me,are getting sick of modern cars. I'm handing my 2019 car back (it's a french car and therefore the electrics are flimsy and it's very temperamental) but the one thing that annoys me is now, if anything goes wrong it's £150 to plug the car in to see the fault codes. Most mechanics are now technicians with laptops and nothing is really built to last. I'm going back to a mid to late 90s car, either Japanese or German. One I can fix and service myself. One where I won't get ripped off by modern garages and dealers. One that doesn't come with overly intrusive tech. It has parking sensors. That'll do.
In general, society has become lazy. Remember when your fave band or singer released an album and you had to wait, queue up,buy it then read the inlay card? Now it's Shazam, Spotify, library. We have to evolve yes, but intrusive tech, paying more for less, wanting everything now and then looking to be offended when someone dares to have a different opinion. In my lifetime, the internet and mobile phones have become the best and worst inventions.

I also think that a lot of people feel rules and laws don't apply to them. Example..where I live..3 schools. Between 8-9am then 2-30 -3.30pm, carnage. Parents with their little darlings just park where they like. No issue with public parking, but when they park on a double yellow, on a junction corner, then cause an accident..not on. Then you point out why the accident happened (because.of their selfish and dangerous parking, as my neighbour pointed out to them) and instead of saying you're right, sorry, I was in a hurry and I'll remember for next time, tell them to fook off. Selfish entitled w4nkers.

I've become quite lazy in terms of my diet. Should motivate myself to cook more but I work nights and takeaways are just so convenient when you're tired and don't feel like cooking. I always use JustEat as well and get them delivered.

The millennial and Gen Xs in my office all get their lunches delivered by Uber Eats or Deliveroo nowadays. I mean 3-4 times a week. Some every day.
I can empathise with this news. I had my niece stay with us on a visit from Australia recently. She kept ordering take away deliveries for herself. Spent most of the time in the bedroom on her phone and laptop. No interest in going out to cycle, walk etc

Makes you wonder where they get their money from...oh yes...they still live at home till they're 40 lol

The laws have let us down in terms of letting companies build products that can only be fixed or have parts replaced by the manufacturer.

Drive thru’s are also becoming a blight on society - Starbucks, McDonald’s, kfc, Costa, Burger King, the lot of them. Absolutely no need and no reason people couldn’t take the time to park up, walk in and purchase
