Seeing posters Criticism of Gibbo and their sweepings statements about lack of ambition and investment had me wondering how many actually attend games, Anyone want to admit they don’t actually attend just come on here to whinge, a bit like the phone in when we get beat.

Yes I do but are you seriously suggesting that by not actually going to matches somehow means that you are not entitled to an opinion?

There is a number of posters on here who won't have anything negative said about the club, team or chairman who don't go to games. Should their opinions be disregarded too?

I was at Hartlepool and lots of other places too. I have been all over travelling from far flung places to watch my club. I continue to be a Gold SC holder.
There are however people like Rob who have done miles more away fixtures than me over the years. I'm not claiming to be a superfan.
But I am entitled to an opinion and wont be shut up by somebody claiming all critics don't go.
There are tens of thousands of people who love Boro but who don't or can't now go. They may have been regulars home or away in years gone by.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and I am hugely critical of Gibson's decisions since 2006.

I very much support MFC and always will do. I don't have to think of Stevie Gibson as king and I don't.

I like a good moan. Also try to be objective (yet to post anything about Warnock out).

I live near Portsmouth. I think that's some kinda justification for not attending loads of 'home games'.

I probably attend 4-5 home games a season. I tie them in with visiting my parents so I can take my dad (who gave up his ST last year after 22 years). So even he's stopped going but that's more due to my mums health.

I've been too Blackpool / Derby and Cov away this season. I would have gone to Reading as local but didn't see point as on TV. Also Hull was scuppered by fuel (thank god)

I think you'll find many used to attend games. Then due to work or finances simply can't. It's not like I'm a UTD fan from Plymouth or something. I lived in Middlesbrough for 19 years then joined the Navy. I've actually lived down here longer than up north.... Scary and depressing 😂

The issue I've had is that pompey and Boro are hardly in the same league. An 'away day' would take me 20mins.

Bit like the idiots who go to the match and spend most of it on the Concourse watching it on the TV's.
I wouldn't necessarily say they were idiots but yes I take your point. Going down at 3:30 and not returning until 4:15 seems a bit daft.

Do you have to attend parliamentsto criticize the government?

I live in south west so only attend games in the south/midlands when i can

Don't ask silly questions! Everyone on here was at Hartlepool in '86 😜
I wasn’t as I was on holiday but I have been going since 81/82 season and was in the very low crowds in those pre liquidation days. I’m very happy and grateful to have Gibbo.

There’s a difference between an opinion and an informed opinion, no one has stated they don’t go but just whinge so I presume everyone who criticises the running of the club puts money in to it…….

The difference between an opinion and an informed opinion is entirely subjective.
What you are saying in effect is anyone's opinion not corresponding with your opinion is therefore uninformed.

How does this sound?

"no one has stated they don’t go but just happy-clap so I presume everyone who will have nothing negative said about the running of the club puts money in to it……."

I put my support into the club at away games, but financially i pay for live streams, radio commentary, i get programmes delivered, buy shirt and other merchandise. Also contribute to sky sports which i believe trickles premiership money down to the EFL generally (inc MFC)so like alot of ex pats and fans living away from boro....yes we do.

I seen some not come back after 1/2 time but are still hanging around when I gone to shake hands with the bairns Father.

Been a ST holder since Ayresome Park.
Took my granddaughter to her first match against Blackpool.
Ask her if she needed the toilet at half time.... of course she didn't.
4.07 "I need the loo Grandad."
I then entered a world I've never seen before in 60+ years. I never realised how many people don't go to the game to watch the match!!!!
Suppose I'm old school I pays me money and gets what I payed for

Are you saying a qualified doctors opinion on a medical matter is no better than a laymans it’s just sublective.👀
And I was merely trying to assertain how many attend and how many just moan

Every opinion about football is subjective.
Comparing that to a qualified doctor's opinion on a medical matter is ridiculous.
We get 20k a game but you seem to be saying that everyone else on Teesside and beyond can't hold a critical view?
