Played with a couple of the lads off this board in the Sir Bobby Charity games
I have a few Boro teamsheets from after liquidation & a few Synners players played for the Boro reservesGosh it was ages ago now but if he played in 90-91 I probably did. I used to play for the reserves and was drafted in a couple of times due to injuries etc. I wasn't very confident in my ability so I can't say I excelled when given the chance.
I was County 200m Champion when I was at school so I had it to burn. Unfortunately I hadn't been coached in the "if you are running down a blind alley, turn around and play it backwards" trick.Pace is lethal at the lower levels
Dont knock yourself, you played at a good levelNow I’m pretty woeful, but played to a reasonable level in the past and to probably the best level I could have played at, albeit mostly in the wrong position.
I was offered a YTS at Torquay as a 16 year old but I knew then I was nowhere near good enough to make it, Nicky Mohan taught me that lesson in a schoolboy game, so stuck to local leagues, played a bit of NL1 but never really established myself in a side or a position, but had the odd memorable moment.
Any players who went on to play for Boro, or other teams?I had a Trial at Middlesbrough Football Club ... early 2000s
Had to move into a Neil Bausor role after pulling off the coup of my mid season transfer. The move that shocked the world of Redcar Leisure CentreExcuse me!!! I was the stalwart at the back for the legendary 5 a side team that was shattered dreams!!
Sledgehammer of a left foot. Scored some Emersonesque goals in my team
