How do you think the match will go - another cagey affair or more open?

I think it will be another cagey game, with potential to go to extra time.

I'm not sure what impact the atmosphere will have, Cov sounded loud on Sunday but their team didn't really reflect that, can we?

I think possibly the reverse of Sunday. It will start cagey with Coventry trying to quiet the crowd down then the game will open up more in the second half.

If it's still a draw then it will be cagey again from 80 mins until the end of extra time unless there is a goal and the other team is trying to equalise.

My guess is Cov to score early from a set peice, then they will sit back and we will have chances cleared off the line and their keeper making worldy save after worldy save.

We will equalize on about 60th minute and then get another quickly. This will make cov have to chase and we will end up winning 3-1 or 4-1.

I hope we've been working out a way to get McGree and Akpom some more space to hurt them. We need one of those two, or hopefully Ramsey/Forss too to be able to feed Archer into dangerous positions.

I was a bit disappointed we never seriously tried to get Archer running off that massive conked carthorse at any point in the previous two games.

We have the ability and weapons to hurt them, it's just hard to find the space with eight players sat deep, maintaining their discipline. We need to isolate some of their weaker players one-on-one to create opportunities or draw fouls and hopefully bookings.

UTB
We just need to be patient. We're pretty good at biding our time as we know we will create chances. We need to take them tonight though like we did against Sheff Utd, Norwich, and the second half against Hull.

Heres how I see it……….

Well we have been behind so many times this season, I expect in true Boro fashion that they’ll nick an early goal and sit back hoping to nick a second on a break at some point. Those watching on TV will hear the commentators waxing lyrical of tales of how wonderful it will be to see the sky blues back where they belong, etc, Jimmy Hill will be rubbing his ghostly chin from on high and memories of Wembley under John Sillett evoked etc etc.

Meanwhile at the ground Boro fans will be nervy watching Akpom, Archer and McGree miss chances leaving Carrick to evoke an inspirational half time speech to lift his boys. Boro come out all guns blazing and on the stroke of 59 mins, Archer is through and finishes in style. A tense nervy 30 mins is played out with chances for both teams. In the 91st minute Boro win a lucky corner, Giles floats the ball to the far post, McNair heads back across for Crooksy to bundle the ball over.

Coventry players surround the ref and after a discussion with the linesman, the goal stands. A nervy 6 minutes more exta time is played out as Coventry hit the woodwork and Lenihan clears off the line and at last the whistle blows and we can banish the fear, collect our broken fingernails off the floor and be jubilant in victory, the sky commentators crest fallen for the mighty sky blues and tearfully describe how not only Lady Godiva, but Lady Luck deserted them too.

Yeah, I think that covers it all.

pretty much as Sunday went: cagy, though if we score first it will open up.. I do however expect us to be quicker passing in the final 3rd with much better movement & people into the area..

They like to defend in lines & mark up against people so making runs into space & taking markers out of position will be key tonight..

That sounds rubbish. Might give it a miss.

Handbrake off compared to both recent matches.
It really doesn't seem to knock us out of our stride if we concede first (think we're top of the league at winning after losing??)
We'll win. Just how I'm not so sure. But we have more in our locker than them.
3-1 Boro

Very similar to the league game.
They came at us to score the early goal and played to hang into the point that secured their play off spot.
An early goal for them would give them something to hang on to and to defend with all their might (foul play included).
I think we will not concede this time and they will tire in the second half.
Boro 2-0.

What a ridiculous prediction. I can only see 4 minutes injury time.

Last 18 matches...

Boro W 9 D4 L 5
Coventry W 8 D 9 L1

Not much in it but hoping home advantage will give us the edge.

In the last home game against us they came out all guns blazing trying to score but don't expect they will start like that tonight, which will hopefully play into our hands.

Forest Sheff U last year did

Wow my memory isnt what it used to be, I take it that was when the allegations of assault happened directly afterwards then.

Last thing you want is a pitch invasion when youve just lost a penalty shoot out

I also think we'll hammer them. 4-1. Two up very early. Carrick does not strike me as a manager to die wondering and will have sussed their (let's be honest) fairly meagre threat on Sunday.

I have a feeling that Coventry are going to fly at us tonight, trying to grab an early goal to shock us.
