I see he is in Portugal with the rest ( nearly didn’t recognise him without his gloves )
A very frustrating player at times but we shouldn’t have sent him out on loan last season, he would have been a better option off the bench than what we had.

So does he stay going on the theory that we are trying to strengthen the options off the bench ?
 
I think it depends on the player himself, because he left of his own volition I believe, looking for more games time.
 
Very bad two bob idea to loan him out at the time as we had few options in the squad, but we should move him on if possible.

He’s a poor player.
If we keep him and play him we will go backwards.
A brainless player who almost always makes the wrong decisions.

What we should do is offset our costs the best way we can.
Ideally sell him, if not loan him out again and let him confound other clubs.
He’s not going to change.
 
I think hes a good squad player and should never have been loaned out. He seems quite a popular player in the dressing room and not the bad egg hudds fans were portraying him to be. For me I would be happy for him to stay in the squad
 
He's not good enough and should be moved on.

He shouldn't have been sent out on loan last season when our options were so limited and we had empty places in the squad though. I think he would have been better than the options we had at times but that says more about the quality of our options than it does about Burgzorg.

Would he have become a bad egg if we didn’t grant him permission to leave on loan though?
 
We should be looking to upgrade Burgzorg but we need players who do bring what he brings but better.
We tried to upgrade him with Sarmiento in January and didn't really work.
We lost a player who could carry the ball, hold it up and very occasionally score a goal out of nothing and replaced him with a player who failed to do any of those things and really bring anything positive to the squad..

I think Kyle Joseph could be an upgraded version of Burgzorg. He has physical power and pace, scores more often, better in the air. He can play as a no9 or wide forward like Conway/Burgzorg.

I'm not giving up on Sarmiento. I'm hoping he kicks on from last season but he definitely needs to show us a lot more than he has done so far.

We need an upgrade in starters AND better cover.

A better CF starter; Strelec can be cover, Conway at a stretch.
A better 10 starter, we have no cover.
A better Left sided starter, Conway can be cover.
We appear to be acquiring the cover, not starters.

If we start short of quality again up front we will fall short again.
 
I think we'll see Burgzorg in the first few games on the bench at least.

McGree - no idea tbh
Joseph - mid August?

We won't have a full squad until the transfer window closes (apologies - "slams shut") so expecting him to play a part.

Conway will 100% be starting for Boro next season when he's fit. He's as important as anyone in our starting line up. I know you, and plenty of others don't think he is, but most Boro fans do rate him and most importantly Hellberg does.

I think Joseph probably comes into the starting team too. He fits what Hellberg wants. High energy, athletic, is good in both directions.
It sounds like we want another no9 as well.

We've already brought in Peart-Harris as an option for no10
We will see players like Burgzorg, Strelec, Sene and Hansen phased out. Silvera has already gone.

Last season we went with 10 players for the front 4 positions:
Conway, Strelec, Sene, McGree, Castledine, Whittaker, Sarmiento, Silvera and Hansen

I think next season it looks something like:
Conway, Joseph, McGree, Castledine, Whittaker, Peart-Harris, Sarmiento, Strelec replacement plus one other. It might be Hansen/Burgzorg or we might get someone else in.


I know it's probably not what some people want to hear but we probably aren't too far away in the forward positions from what we'll be going with. Maybe two more to come in but we need outgoings to make it happen. I think we'll bring in another no9 and someone who can play RW. Could be loans.
 
Hellberg is going to hire a hypnotist to sort out the Zorgs issues in the final third, he will then fire us to promotion with a 25 goal season before being sold for 30 mil and reverting to his usual form

I know it’s one game but I think he would have had more of an impact at Wembley than the others on the day. I know he’s inconsistent but he can have an impact on his day.
