How do you change the icon "A" in my case to a picture

Click on the ‘A’ on the top of the page and then go into your profile and click on edit Avatar

Or: In your "Account details" in the menu which drops down from your username when you click on it

To add to Muttley's post - click on Avatar box which may have a big A say in it when issued to you then a one line box appear- In that box copy and paste in a URL from an image you want to use or file name you have already saved using the browse button to find the latter. Then click on save. Your image needs to be a certain size of it may only show part of it. I played around with mine to get it smaller so key elements are showing.
