How can we deal with the growing hate within the Uk

Great thread and debate.
I’m moved by those saying it starts with ‘us’.
Let’s start by each of us stopping our personal hate.

It’s really hard and pretty much out of our control to stop ‘them’ whoever they are.

Internet anonymity needs to stop being the norm.
By all means allow it but why should it be the norm, where one person can spoil or steer or escalate a discussion with no responsibility. In reality, why does fmttm need to be anonymous? It would weed out the trolls.

Are you paid by the line?
There's two threads dealing with yesterday's shocking events yet on neither one have you expressed your condolences to the MP's family. You seem intent on just having a pop and points scoring.

I can't explain that for you.

Have a day off maybe watch the football hey?

No that's Michael Gove. But I'm guessing you don't have a better description for a man who shags around while his wife is at chemo?
On a thread entitled “how do we deal with the growing hate within the uk” very classy but you keep going - it seems nothing will stop you pinning your colours to the mast.

You are the one complaining that Johnson shouldn't be called scum, I pointed out the man shagged around while his wife was at chemo, you aren't honest enough to say "fair enough, that's pretty scummy" and instead deflect.....it's time you held a mirror up to yourself, and asked why you are pinning your colours to that particular mast.

I vote on policy by the way, I have voted for three different parties in the last 4 elections, so not really sure what colour that flag is?!

Pretty sure Boris and his wife had separated before she'd been diagnosed with cancer, so I'm not sure why you keep peddling this story, especially when there's more than enough **** to throw at him that sticks without resorting to this sort of gossip.

The flip side of that is there are some unsavoury characters on the fringes of this site and leading other boro sites. Making thing anonymous is safer. I have had stalker problems from a pervious site. Including one bloke harrassing me at work

To be fair I'm "arguing" about morality. If compulsory infidelity was a party policy then fair point but it isn't.
BM - I’m no fan of BJ and I think the word ’scum’ underplays it somewhat.
But - the shagging around bit is poor by most people’s standards but not the standards of that household.
The unmanned female barrister had a pretty low standards.
I wonder whose wife she was (this incident was pre chemo)

When we get rhetoric from the PM and his ministers calling people scroungers, dividing people into categories of "strivers and skivers", seeing the bedroom curtains closed as workers passed by on their way to work, thinking it is OK to threaten a journalist with violence for simply having a different view to him and never being challenged by a policeman for threatening behaviour, a serving politician threatening to deliver a bomb to a political conference and never being challenged for that too .
When people in government spout off these sort of views and comments without retribution then the population as a whole seem to think it is ok for them to do it too.

Not to mention his overt misogyny and racism.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, culture flows down from those with influence and power. from the PM, the media moguls and the internet influencers.

I actually think the start of a better world is to start to control the internet better. People are free to spread misinformation and hate with a free pass. It then influences everyone else. It's the single biggest source on hate
'culture flows down'

Maybe, if there was no social media.
