How can anybody afford to shop at the co-op /waitrose

Co op have some great deals. Every so often 2 pizza and 4 moretti £5

Open early - close late - corner shop hours with Waitrose prices. Drive past.

My little corner shop charges well off the scale, but hes where I go when I need it.
The co-op on my local station has good deals.
Horses for courses.

until the arrival of sainsburys, lidl and aldi to Whitby the co op was the only supermarket of any note in town. It was far cheaper to drive to the boro to do our big shop than use the co op even when taking into account the fuel costs, it is still ridiculously expensive now and i am sure its location in the centre of town give it the passing tourist trade and thats all that keeps it going.

When I'm at work, I always shop at the Co-op, it's the only shop anywhere near my digs. Slightly higher prices is offset by not having to drive there.

Interesting
You can find some prices that are higher - for sure. You will also find some cheaper. Promotions are normally like for like.

People shop in the Co-op because they are convenient and, in the main, rooted in the community.
You will be supporting local people having jobs and supporting fair prices for suppliers. You will be supporting a business that was changing the world (plastics) when no one was looking and supporting a business that pumps profits back to its customers, people and local community projects rather than shareholders.

Community, doesn’t have to be for a pandemic.

Slightly more expensive but we're using the co-op and our local Nisa to avoid the big Tesco or Sainsbury's. We've got the vast majority of what we need between these 2 shops and I prefer to shop local, hopefully the businesses can survive

The Co-op is also my closest shop. We normally share our supermarket shopping between there, Lidl and Aldi but at the moment we are just using the Co-op.

Avoid the riff raff shopping at Waitrose an all together more pleasurable shopping experience, worth paying that bit extra for😉

10% premium but become a member and you get it back, when you take that into account it’s actually cheaper than many places, it helps fund local charities, they try and support local suppliers, they are apparently very good with their staff and I try and shop there as often as possible in normal circumstances.

Become a member and support your local Co-op.
