How’s Newcastle’s global domination going?

How’s it going ? On source I would say.
Let’s hope the Saudi owners are a bit cheesed off.Especially after that home Hammering.

Lots of talk up here about a new stadium, and most of the Newcastle support actually seem to like the idea.

I would be a little concerned if I were a Newcastle fan though. I see no prospect of Newcastle being moved overseas full time, but I do think at some point in the future, the Saudis will push to host some PL matches, maybe 2-3 a season. Newcastle would be the obvious choice.

Whether FIFA approve the plan for a La Liga match being played in the USA next month may be crucial. We know the FA will cave as soon as the Saudis start counting out the money.
They can always bouycott.

They didn't even manage to go further than us in the cup :)

They've been poor to watch for 18 months now - just a run of the mill Premier League team prioritising defensive stodgyness with the odd good player to drag them out of it sometimes.

A lot of fans are frustrated with Howe but I think the issue is they have a lot of players who just aren't very good, despite the first team costing a fortune.

Very ordinary players and very one dimensional..... Long diagonal tactics to Gordon or Isaak running the inside left channel...... Turned off last night it was that poor!

It's a shame really (NOT) given the money they've spent and sold their soul to the money devil!

Long may this continue!!!!!!!

Sold their soul to be a mid table premier league side
This is the delicious irony.

They were so desperate for success, thinking it was the be all and end all, they ended up giving up everything and being exactly where they were anyway.

I'm friends with a few Newcastle fans and they have always insisted that I'd be just like them if PIF had chosen to buy us.

The fact that I am happy with our club being owned by a local businessman, with a route for local lads to get in the side and largely no chance of silverware seems insane to them.

And despite no chance of silverware for us, I’d imagine these friends of yours have seen none…..

Just being a bit of a party pooper
Their only objective on takeover was a domestic cup within 5 years

I’m delighted with how its going btw

No Skunk fan could ever personally remember seeing them winning the top league, that was in 1927. Also no major domestic trophy since the mid 50s. However, I do seem to remember them winning a UEFA breadboard a few seasons ago, and Look Tyne made it a huge event. I won't even mention the invitational and totally unrecognised 1969 Fairs Cup.
Big club though🤔

Newcastle fans are hilarious. The biggest hypocrits in football. Their indignation when Mike Ashley dared to put a few sports direct posters up at "wor cathedral on the hill". How dare he desecrate their hallowed home!!!! Fast forward a few years and they couldn't give a shiny $hite about Sid James park, they just wanna new stadium to maximise revenue and bend over and do whatever the Saudis want to fudge FFP

Not according to their fans, and many on this board even, they were 'inevitably' going to win PL and CL titles etc, regardless of FFP.

In fairness the PL is tight this season and they could compete for European slots if they get it together, but its a good job they beat Arsenal and Forest or they'd have been firmly in the dog-fight now.

.... talking himself out of a job?

Howe - "I'm pretty pleased with the first 60 minutes albeit we were losing the game 2-0." .... akin to Mrs Lincoln's "Apart from that I really enjoyed the show."

Their average final position under Ashley was 14th in the PL. I would estimate that the PIF will elevate that somewhat, to being top 10, but PL and CL titles await not.

There's definitely been a mood change in recent weeks in favour of a new stadium.
My only hope is that they can't occupy leazes park and are forced further out.
I'm sure the owners would secretly favour a location well away from the centre of Newcastle so they could hoover up even more match day revenue currently spread around businesses in the centre.
As for the fans many are saying 80k won't be enough. They have short memories. They were giving away season tickets a few years ago.
🤡

Let them be the new Darlo on a bigger scale.

New stadiums always work wonders for clubs trying to reach the next level. Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal have all gone from strength to strength since building theirs.

Here are some average attendances for Newcastle United Football Club (NUFC) in the mid-1980s:

1980/81: 16,004
1981/82: 17,271
1982/83: 24,164
1983/84: 29,856
NUFC was experiencing turmoil in the late 1980s, with missed opportunities, relegation battles, and the sale of star players. In the 1990/91 season, the club was relegated to the Second Division.

I worked up there in the city for 2.5 years and they were a laughing stock even amongst themselves. Always been a big club though. 🤔
