Housing Ukrainian Families

Strange that the usual suspects are not moaning on about they should just stay in the first safe country.
Either they think that only applies to brown people or they have realised the stupidity of that idea?

I was hoping they would get their way and send me back to the West Indies (Montserrat). ;)
 
What does sponsorship entail.

Is it simpler giving a roof over peoples heads or do you have to fund them as well?
 
I've just emailed our local mp for advice on how to house and offer santuary to a small family.

I watched s video on fb earlier of a yound child crying as he crossed thd border with a telephone number written on his hand. Thd child was 4 or 5 years old and it was truly harrowing.

They haven't decided how it would work but I think it's more likely to work with local authorities and community groups rather than private individuals.

The different Ministers all seem to have a different view on what will happen when they've been asked.

They'll do it as slowly as possible to minimise numbers.
 
My cousin lives in Munich and is married to a Ukrainian. Thankfully all her family are out of there and currently in Bulgaria. His mother in law is heading to them but they only have a small apartment and a daughter to look after. There is no where for any of the other family to stay with them. They don't know where the rest will go. But the main thing for them is that they are safe and well for the time being.
 
I dont have space for a family I have 2 young kids and no spare bedrooms. Id be open to taking in an unaccompanied child a similar age to either of my current children but thats about the best I could do.

The company I work for at my suggestion is also looking into sponsoring a couple of visas for staff from a ukrainian supplier we were using to come and work for us instead and our sister company in Ireland is doing the same.
