Hospitality Fights Back

No beer for you today Mr Starmer 🤣

Sir Keir Starmer has been told to leave a pub in Bath by its landlord over his support for the COVID lockdown.

The incident happened while the Labour leader was on a walkabout in the city ahead of the local elections.

Rod Humphris, landlord of the Raven pub, shouted "that man is not allowed in my pub" and "get out of my pub" as Sir Keir, wearing a black face mask, walked out of the door, with the incident captured on camera by reporters.

The landlord later said: "I had heard that the Labour Party were coming round and he turned up and I told him what I thought of him, basically.

"I think he has utterly failed us as the leader of the Opposition, he has completely failed to ask the questions that needed asking, like, why did we throw away our previous pandemic preparedness?

"Why have we just accepted lockdown?

"Why have we just accepted the loss of all our freedoms?"

I think when we look back on this situation in a few years and look at the airborne component to the virus it will be clear both care homes and hospitals were far from protected with paper masks and plastic aprons.

With a throughput of the most vulnerable and most likely to become ill it doesn't surprise me they are the biggest vectors.

Shame the pubs couldn't open a few weeks earlier, but in reality sitting indoors is still going to be a major vector whether now, in 2 weeks or in 6 months.

Fingers crossed the vaccine and general population immunity keeps working and the sun keeps shining keeping people outdoors.

Strange words from Osmond, it was clear and was highlighted that hospitals and care homes were centres of the spread of the disease. They couldn't be closed.

Other centres of the spread could be closed and we're, offices, pubs etc.

The use of masks to stop the airborne spread of disease continues and will continue in hospitals because they work

He's seen the evidence the government have used in the court proceedings. This I believe was the goal, to see evidence for not opening at the same thing me as indoor shops and indoor service stations. Service stations allow you to eat indoors believe it or not.

He said he was releasing it all this week now the case is over. We'll wait and see.

I don't know why the hospitality sector has been disproportionally limited at the end of lockdowns, however, I have a theory and it has been a thought of mine since the second lockdown. Johnson knew lockdowns were not very popular. The pub has become the ultimate symbol of our freedom and how much it has been eroded. When the sector is allowed to fully open again a huge number of people who use pubs will be greatful to Johnson and forget that it was him who perpetuated this nonsense.

We are all being treated like dogs who get beaten and are so greatful for the affection after the beating that they forget the beating.

There has been some utter drivel posted on this site by some posters who were mugged by the government. Telling us all that we can go in TK-Max but not inside a pub becuse, well I can't be bothered repeating the stupid psuedo science. Suffice to say that opening up pubs will give the goverrnment a boost in the polls.

There is not one shred of evidence to suggest pubs are more dangerous than shops, and a fair bit of evidence to suggest the opposite. The ONLY reason I can see for this is the bounce in polls the government get when pubs fully re-open.

The general public have been treated like mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed ****.

I agree with the clothes shops/pubs comparison completely. Both non-essential.

Keeps the fear narrative going aswell doesn't it?
People naturally talk to each other in the pub.

"Can't have the plebs discussing the ins and outs of lockdowns can we Mr Gove and Mr Hancock"

"Settle down Carrie, I'm coming now, have you got the whip and ball gag?"

he wasn't the landlord, he was just bar staff, and Starmer received an apology from the owner. The guy is also an absolute covidiot and blaming Starmer for the governments response is bellendary of the highest order.

Rained off at work again. 😠

Looking forward to the release of the evidence the government used to justify keeping us closed indoors. Due to be released around 7pm tonight when the court order runs out.
