Hoppe joins Hibs

Good stuff. The right call for me. Get some minutes in and hopefully show what he can do.

I have to say he looks an old 21 year old tho!

He's a funny one Hoppe. Basically he's had to rebuild/even start his career at a lower level than where he started. Must be quite tough mentally to take. Hopefully this is the first step and he gets plenty of minutes and comes back next season ready to challenge in our first team.
 
Would be nice if we got Josh Campbell coming the other way . OR
Kevin Nisbet , but doubtful as he has come off injured in tonight's game .

Too good for our reserves, but they clearly don't think he is ready for the first team.

Hopefully he is young and just needs a period of games to compete for our starting striker position next year with coburn...

They’re based in Middlesbrough, and posted a photo on their Facebook earlier this month which has Hoppe in it, so they’re linked to footballer(s). This was posted after we announced Hoppe leaving.
 
quite glad he’s went to Hibs, get on tele now and again them so be able to watch him. Hope he does well
 
Hoppe was in the Schalke B team but was 3rd or 4th choice forward so settled for 15 mins subs most games , in fact he only gets 1 start. in the 15 games and he scores and assist 1
The first team have a fwd injury crisis and he and a young German fwd are told they will be needed for the bench in the next Full 1st team game - its a surprise ,
It's even more of a surprise when a further niggle before the game day on a fwd means one of them has to start. They choose Hoppe; 81 mins played.
The injury crisis persists and they have to keep him in the 1st team squad. He gets a sub app of 25m, then unused on the bench then a sub of 4m and then is even sent back to the B side for 1 match as some guys have recovered.
Hang on , they have a xmas break of 2 weeks and somehow the injuries have come back so start of the calendar year Hoppe is back in as a starter in first team again and gets 81 min. No goals. In these games the first team have lost 5 games they are really p poor.
So they persist with Hoppe as a starter because they have to , and he's had 5 games so no point bringing in another guy from the B side and they are expecting fwds to return anyway from injuries.
Boom , Hoppe bags 3 against Hoffenheim for the senior teams FIRST win of the season in 15 games.
Obv they all looking surprised at each other and they can't bench him now or return to the B side so he plays next 2 and scores 1 in each. The management are thinking they found some gold under the stairs.
Unfortunaltely that's the end of the good bit. He starts the next 9 but no goals and the team fails as a whole and a further six games follows but its benches or 4m subs for Hoppe, last three games Schalke know its all over and relegation to come but Hoppe back in starting again and does score and assist for only the 3rd win all season
Schalke are relegated and need cash quick. They choose to accept a decent offer from a Spanish side and Hoppe goes off to the sun for the next season where he does not play competitive footy.
That's Hoppe's club story so far . Hibs seems to have a fwd injury crisis . I hope he gets some starts very soon and we see if we have some gold in our hands.
