Here is the full squad: The core for next season. Who do you move on. Decision is yours!?

I know that is virtually all of the senior players gone, but some money generated and a very large wage bill saved when added to Randolph, Ayala and Gestede.
Take a look at the table, what these experienced lads are paid and tell me we couldn't do a hell of a lot better with their supposed value and costs.
The clear out has to be major.
Don't hold on to useless players who are done for fear of squad turnover.

Dijksteel has been poor when he played

Would like to see Pears, Fry, Spence, Coulson and Tav stay. Not bothered about anyone else really.

(Friend to stay as part of the management team)
I agree about George, but purely for sentimental reasons.
For 100K hes been the best buy by far. [Thanks to Tony Mowbray](y)
I dont think it would take George long to get his coaching badges and I would also see him taking a senior role in supporting Middlesbrough - In - The - Community.
It depends of course on what he wants to do.
We have to be ruthless financially.
Thats the way it is.

We'll still owe money on the transfer fee of Saville, (and Assombalonga and others?) so any income from them selling them wont necessarily generate money for new players.

We would never get anything near what we paid for either Saville or assombalonga.

I suppose the reverse is true and we are probably still owed some incoming transfer money.
Cut our losses.
We cant afford to continue to pay extortionate wages.
This whole coronavirus has impacted on the sale value of the majority of players and thousands will be on the move, like refugees.
From Mansfield to Gateshead - there are plenty with their kit-bags on their shoulders.

Lets not think that non-league also means "below us", because there are gems to be found.

See: Jamey Vardi(y)

We could just appoint the best up and coming coaches we can afford instead? There's always going to be ex-players hanging around in coaching roles, but we need the best we can afford. Not the nicest or who does community stuff for the club. Mr Tumble may be a great ambassador for us in the community, but ability in the role he's paid to do should always override anything else.

I agree.
Perhaps we can ask Rob if he will interview George after the end of this min-season?
He might want to open a flower shop for his missus on Yarm High Street, whilst he becomes a house - husband and takes up bowl - turning in the garden shed?:)

I have an inkling he's mentioned a media career in the past? Didn't he undertake some sort of degree related to it?

Where's his Mrs from? He's from Devon way isn't he? Might want to head home.

Hes said loads of times he loves the area and the people.
I dont imagine from what he says that will be an option, but we dont really know do we?

Put the champ manager game down. 😏
Never played or even seen it randy . My choices would be an improvement on the current squad , do you not agree ? If not , who would you choose to bring in ? Obviously considering wages and the likely hood of a player coming . Over to you cocker

Note the emoji. All in jest. The squad isn't going to be ripped to shreds unless a serious investor with a serious amount of money comes in regardless as to whether players are available on a free or not

The wage bill for that lot would be higher than what we have now.

We should only keep Stojanovic, Spence, Coulson, Fry, Tav and Wing really. The rest have been here for a few years and shown us what they are capable of. Allowing Howson a one year option was criminal, but just a measure of how the club has been run since relegation.

Jest taken randy lad 👍🏻
The squad is being ripped to shreds though pal .
Ayala , Gestede gone , Shotton , Clayton , Johnson , Friend , Pears , Hemings , Dale , Renton , Wearne and Curry out of contract = 12 going or gone . 4 loan players go back to their clubs = 16 squad players to replace . Add to that , Britt and Fletcher have 1 year left on their contracts so will be for sale , = 18 players , and if bids come in for Tav , Wing , McNair and Saville they will be considered .
So potentially 22 players out . They will need to be replaced in a very short time span .

Be interesting to see that if we do stay up and Warnock isn't staying, whether we start signing players.

Where do you start? Need to decide if we're going with three centre backs really, two up top? Wingers or a number ten?

We can't stuff this up signing individuals again, we need players for positions and the system that we are going to be playing and stop pi55ing about with four identikit midfielders or signing strikers but no providers.

And for the love of God sign someone who can consistently deliver a set piece.

Agreed Caesium , big decisions to be made , and surely Warnock and his team will be making the decisions .
Huge months ahead for our club , hopefully we stay up and the rebuild can be done .
Go down and my list gets ripped up , half of them wont play in div 1 .
We will have a list for both outcomes I hope .

I don't really want to keep any of the out of contract players, of this seasons loans I think only Roberts has proved his worth. So as I see the squad (not including youth players) to start next season......

GK - Stojanovic
GK - Pears
GK - Mejias

I think in broad terms this is okay, I don't think investing in another keeper will make us a significantly better team.

LB - Coulson - better as a wingback
LB - Bola - Looks League 1 at best, needs replacing

Not really good enough, if we're playing as a four we'll need two left backs.

RB - Spence - promising but raw, good physical attributes
RB - Dijksteel - good enough for cover, doesn't look a natural fullback, drifts in a lot.

Broadly acceptable, we have much bigger issues

CB - Fry
CB - Stubbs
CB - Liddle?
CB -

Nowhere near good enough, if we are playing two CB we need to sign two, if we are playing three we probably need to sign four, unless we move McNair back there.

MF - Saville
MF - McNair
MF - Howson
MF - Tavernier
MF - Wing

Again, depends if we're intending to play two or three. If we have better attackers / creative players then these five are broadly acceptable to cover two positions. I could happily move Wing on and probably utilise Tav further forward.

Att - Winger L Coulson maybe?
Att - Winger L
Att - Winger R
Att - Winger R
Att - No. 10
Att - Browne

Nowhere near acceptable, our creative / attacking / pace / flair options are woeful.

ST - Fletcher
ST - Britt
ST - No. 9
ST - Promising youngster

The starting two should be good enough (just), I'd like a big powerful bully with a bit of quality, who nets a few and a promising youngster, probably a loan to bolster our options. I think we need the supply sorting before we try signing a starting set of strikers again. Although if there's a good offer for Britt it would make sense to move him on.

So 25/26 man squad there, we need about ten or eleven signings depending on formation.

Crikey........

Britt and Fletcher are out of contract in a year , and with them we are the lowest scoring team in the league , so I can see both going .
4 new forwards at least if they do go to replace Britt , Fletcher , Nmecha and Gestede
