Henry Winter in The Times

The entire story of the PL is:

1. Failed attempt by 'big six' to break away (illegally) from the football League.

2. They get away with it, unpunished. The FL clubs are divided. Many see themselves as potential 'big clubs'.

3. Knowing they won't be penalised, the six go again, and, with the FA's blessing, PL history begins.

The EFL should stick together this time and reinstate the old order, with or without any 'big clubs' . The small clubs are on the brink, what have they got to lose? The PL can accept non-league clubs if they want, or just do away with promotion/ relegation and see how much credibility that will have.
