Hemlington Trouble

Been reading in the Gazette for the past 4 weeks about the so called mayhem going on in Hemlington with the Gazette making out it is a warzone only to find 4 teenagers have been nicked for a few fires and broken bottles. Im under no illusion that this is a problem but how long does it really take a police force to put a stop to this? its four kids for gods sake! Ingleby Barwick has similar problems but they seem to deflect the blame on nearby Thornaby as Ingleby angels cant be to blame.

Hemlington is pretty ferile feller, its been getting worse for years, the cosntant stoning and bricking of cars and buses driving through is alot worse than what your on about.

Seems to have been some swift action by all accounts. Teenagers going through the courts at pace, however it depends on which Ivory Tower the judge lives in on what punishment should be given. To me the parents should foot any fine given or in the event of further trouble by their offspring be removed from the estate, god knows where like.

Not true. I am part of a running group that run around the lake twice a week. There are lots of groups based in the community like the angling group etc and they all work hard to keep things going.
Ingleby and Preston Park have problems on a bigger scale. Mobs of youths bullying younger kids etc.
We noticed problems in recent weeks in Hemlington but as stated is small number of kids and police and community wardens are on it immediately.

I just don't think four teenagers causing trouble warrants such a big press response. No doubt its not on but how hard can it be to put a stop to?

As an IB dweller I Didn’t read that ‘deflection’ to Thornaby - quite the opposite the kids were identified as going to the local school in IB. Here is the difference though, in IB the councillors managed to get the MP and top brass in the police involved and quickly got a bit of a public meeting (only 30 people turned up) going. The also got cameras installed and working in the area concerned within 6 weeks of the issue and increased police patrols. This was an issue with about 6 to 8 youths in a population of 20,000 on the estate. There is a big difference between the reaction and response between what is perceived to be a more affluent area of Teesside and an estate that is almost accepted as an area of high deprivation. Unfair and should all be treated the same but we all no it’s not. The issues with kids, it is the same in Acklam, Marton, Berwick Hills etc is a small number (usually less than 20) completely valueless individuals with no moral compass or respect for anything feeling emboldened because what’s left of the police force can’t cope with or stop them. Blame the same Tory MP’s such as Vickers in IB now championing law and order for the failings in kids behaviour we are seeing right across Teesside.

It's funny isn't it, we vote to reduce police numbers, we vote to increase poverty and all of the baggage that comes with it, and the local rag, a mouthpiece for the policies above, then reports on what many knew would be the result.

If you want to live in a civilised society you have to behave in a civil way yourself, that includes who you choose to represent you and which policies you vote for.

You can't vote to treat people like dogs then complain once bitten.

As for that rag, it's only use is for starting fires.

There were 240 crimes reported in August alone, it’s not the worst place in the area but that’s abit more than four naughty kids.

What rubbish. I live in Ingleby my dad lives in Hemlington. Believe me it’s like a war zone there at the moment. He was interviewed anonymously for the gazette the other week after wheelie bins where set on fire and fire brigade and police where bricked. I’ve seen no crime in Ingleby in my 20 odd years living here.

I suppose someone was bound to politicise this as is done with most subjects.

I lived in Acklam for about 15 years and found it to be one of the nicest and safest places.Perhaps times have changed.

Interesting Stats!! not good viewing in a month alone.
No it’s not good at all. The stats for Stainton are seperate and they had 169 crimes registered for the same month and a fair chunk of that is spill over from Hemlington. I have a friend who lives there and she literally can’t leave anything on show in her car or out in the garden as it gets nicked within a couple of hours. There’s always scrotes wandering around on the lookout for things to rob.

Thats what is completley sending me up the wall.

Crime increasing
Killing thousands with failed Covid policies and actions
Records NHS waiting lists
Increased poverty
Increased foodbanks
Food shortages
Increased tax burden = less take home pay

It just goes on and on and on but does it affect their approval rating? Hardly.

I'm lost with it.

No credible opposition talking with one clear voice / coherent message
Lot of racists who don’t give a fig about the things you list as long as they keep the foreigners out. Despite the fact Pernicious Patel is doing a shocking job at that they like the sabre rattling talk so won’t hear a word against Johnson and the blue meanies. Most sadly for me as a true Christian socialist - people just don’t care anymore. As long as they have enough to get by, get out for a pint and have a job of some sort they really couldn’t care less about their fellow man.

Well you just need to keep enough people happy to get past the post don't you, which is what they're doing.

I frequently pass these groups in Ib walking my dogs and i have to say its not as bad as most people think. Most of these kids are good kids who just want to congregate with their friends like every generation.the problem is there next to nothing organised in Ib for teenagers .for most its a rite of passage which the will grow out of by the time they are 18. I think there are only a handful of troublemakers. My only worry with them is the numbers smoking canabis and the long term damage it can potentially cause to their own mental health.

It seems like a small area brings the whole post code area down. There are some decent parts of Hembo but due to its name the whole area is tarnished. There are some decent houses off the Hemlington Hall Road area with decent people living there, it's only really South of the lake where there seems to be issues.
