Heavy balls..............

No, not mine watching Crooks stroll about like a bronzed Adonis bossing the midfield ...........

I mean the ones we practice our set-plays and shooting with, they've got to be heavier right?

That can be the only reason we seem to overhit so many crosses, shots and set plays surely?

I'd also add I hate the 'floaty in' ball we seem to try as well, which just gives the keeper or centre halves more time under the ball to position themselves.

Good result, just a bit annoying we could have had ten .

the most annoying thing about winning 2-0 is that we didn't win 10-0 haha love it!

I think we might see a shocking score line this season (in our favour) defenders out, attacking players not fully up to speed.

Just think if we have Martin Payero playing 70/80 even 90% of what he's capable of.. we've not seen the best from Siliki yet.

Jones, Tavernier & Watmore all great.. but add an extra 10% to their game when we have a settled team and we'll be genuine contenders.

MARCUS BROWNE still to come back!!

we did score from two decent crosses but there were a huge number of overhit crosses , I also wondered about the weight of the ball :)

That wasn't proper floaty!
Come on now, it was floaty enough. In fact for a while I was wondering if it would ever return to earth. :giggle:

You're right about the over hit crosses from set pieces. However my bugbear is that in an effort not to hit the first man (which is really annoying) an overhit ball is a distinct possibility yet so often we have no-one loitering 'out the back' to capitalise if it happens.

Those who leave 5 minutes before the end haven't seen him at all, have they?
I was saying this to the fella who sits next to me! He left early against Peterborough and again against Barnsley!

LOADS of people do it?!?! I don't get it all? Why bother going in the first place? Imagine doing that for anything else?

Walking out 10 minutes before the end of a film!

Titanic is just the story of a plucky young gentleman who wins a ticket on a luxury cruise liner and rattles some old bird.

"Who the chuff was Keyser Söze?"

Not only does it mean that the folks that walk out before the end miss out.. but everyone on the row who has to stand up to accommodate them shuffling past.

It seems to be picking up in popularity.. folks must love that dejected walk alone to the car and the quick drive home to find out what happened at the match they paid to go to.

Heavy balls initially, then maybe a nice evening with a suitable companion (Matt Crooks possibly), and then (empty) floaty balls in the bath prior to bed.

A boy can dream.............
Always a joy to get a reasoned and thoughtful reply on here. I've opened a bit of a can of worms here though, haven't I? Bound to divide opinion. We'll probably end up getting in to a bit of a Goldilocks and The Three Bears situation. The balls in this porridge are TOO heavy for me. Urgh! The balls in THIS porridge are TOO floaty for my liking. But the balls in this porridge are JUST right IMHO. But none of us will be able to agree on which bowl is the 'just right' bowl. And porridge is rubbish anyway. But anyway. I'm dragging this thread off topic here. Back to discussing balls . . .

Alexa, add porridge to my shopping list........................

It's enough trouble trying to corale my mammoth trousersnake into my circa 2011 top man tight white jeans, without having to get a pair of floaty balls down there as well so I'll go for heavy balls.
