Not me either. The BBC - or anybody else - wouldn't know where to find Jaén!

Its been 38º or more for a few days now here and its not going to reduce until the weekend. Bloody hell its awful!

It is lucky for me that I am by the coast and in a cooler area on the Monday map I posted. Even the desert areas of the province I am in are cooler than a lot of areas further inland.

I remember my last trip to the Med in 2004, it often got to 42 degrees in Greece, it was actually dangerous to be in that sun and heat for people not used to it.

My favourite temperature is around 23 to 25 during the middle of the day, Mid June to late August in the Med is too hot in general for R/W.

I'm in Alhaurin el Grande near Malaga until tomorrow then I'm back to Madrid for 1 night, it was 36 yesterday but it's saying 31 today but it feels warmer almost oppressive. Next week I be in Asturias where it be only place in Spain thats Freezing and ******* down at the same time.

33 here in Greece. Too hot.
Worst I saw it was 40 + in the desert in Tunisia on a pipeline. Welders dropping like dead flies.
We winge about our weather in the UK but it could be a helluva lot worse.

Media reporting heat in Spain and med islands like it’s the first time it’s happened. Good to warn people but as the phrase goes “only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid day sun”.
