He is staying put 💯💯

After reading I have a feeling that Akpom may as well pack his bags and go home and put his feet up for the rest of this season. He wont be getting another game.
NW has said as close as the bloke is useless without actually saying it.

problem is these days we couldn't even ship him out for free.
Wonder if hes any good in goal ?

Neil works with the players every day. Knows their personalities and situations etc. I don’t think he would have said that if he didn’t know Akpom would use it as motivation go up his game, instead of knocking his confidence.
Which he can only show if he plays of course.

The recruitment team signed Akpom then? He wasn't saying that in the summer. He also said he had turned down defenders recommended by recruitment staff so I think he is deflecting here, to be honest. If Akpom had knocked 15 goals in we wouldn't be hearing anything about the recruitment team.
Several managers have stated the same about recruitment, are they all fibbing? Even Downing backed up that he felt AK didn’t want him. I am sure NW agreed to Akpom in the face of him or nobody. He needed bodies In. It is more to do with how we play that does not suit him imho.

There seems to be too much of a disconnect with some signings/sales between the manager and the chairman/commercial director - AK, I am sure walked out over transfers and a lack of enough control, Southgate had serious issues too, now Warnock. Although the Scottish signings by Strachan seemed his doing, most came from Celtic where GS2 had been manager, not long before.

Main thing looks like he is staying for next season. He wants things to be changed at the club to 💯👌

Think this article proves he WONT be staying. You don’t go after Gill, Bausor and the recruitment team, Gibbo will back his men - they’ve put paid to many a manager. They will outlast the next few managers too. Fireproof is the term I’d use.

Mowbray slagged off our recruitment....famous Rolodex comment
Karanka complained about his 'gifts'
Pulis talked about 'root and branch reform'
Warnock now having a go despite buying a complete muppet for £2.8 million

God it has been an annoying, chewy last few years
More spin than a room full of waltzers
Everyone blaming everyone else........aaaargh

I think there's no doubt he's staying on now ... since we've heard him talking about players being watched and ones on his 'list' after the season ends. My concern is losing some of our key assets .. would we part with the likes of Tavernier, McNair, Fry to be able to fund other deals if Warnock knows he can definitely get them over the line if the money is there??

Going to be very interesting to see how the squad is overhauled in the Summer. I don't want to see any of our better players be sold on, and hope we can finally identify a gem or two to strengthen us. I'd love to know who they currently have in mind. I do think our recruitment team, in general, has been poor though for too long now. I hope NW has to power to change it for the better as it does need improvement.

Also, think Kebano has been good since we've brought him in. If Fulham come back down, it'd be a shame to have to return him .. unless they would sell us him for a fee we can risk, but I can't see where the money is coming from for other signings for a significant fee right now ..

Gibbo may well find the money to take a gamble on, who knows and trust Warnock to take the risk on certain targets, God knows what will happen but it'll be interesting to see the look of the team come the beginning of the 21/22 season.

How many times has this board had posts slating the recruitment team? Interesting that now NW has come out and said that he'll be getting potential signings watched live by him or his assistants and not on video as anyone can look good on a video.
From the Gazette:
The manager says Akpom was "top of the recruitment team's list" in the summer but due to the covid pandemic, Boro weren't able to watch him in action live for PAOK in Greece and instead had to study video clips.
Tbf at that time it wasn't really possible to see players in the skin as it were. Plus I would argue tubes did more today than brit

Mowbray slagged it of because it was none existent. Strachan dismantled it basically as he said he knew all the players he wanted in his head. And look what we got.

He was always going to want to stay with the promise of the fans returning - he has only managed us in mostly empty stadiums and the way he is he wants to have a good relationship with the fans and probably believes we will do better with the crowd back in the stadium
