Have to laugh at the stick Lineker and Gary Neville get on social media/Twitter

No. Not because you don't agree. Again you're not understanding. You can't see the difference between playing in it and commentating.
I understand perfectly that two people can have differing points of view on the same subject and still respect each others opinion.

Neville has such strong views about this yet is still happy to take their money, that makes him nothing but a hypocrite.
His bank balance or career wouldn’t take any hit if he decided to sit this one out
No, I get the point, I just don't agree.

He has a career in the media and is entitled to pursue it. The fact he is working for beIN is irrelevant to the point.

Plenty of others travelling to Qatar to report on the WC have remained silent, so I guess we're happy for them to go, or is our anger only directed at those who have called out the issues, such as Neville?

I get it makes people uncomfortable, but the argument doesn't stand up for me.

Picking out Neville, or Linekar, because he commented on the humanitarian issues that literally everyone knows about, but the majority chose not to comment, seems illogical to me.

It's their media exposure that gives them their platform in the first place, the more exlosure they have, the louder the voice

If Neville didn't go to Qatar to work for beIN Sports, his media career in the UK would not be impacted.
He's one of the main pundits for Sky, and a good one, he's set in that regard.

He's went to work for Qatar out of greed.

Going there has damaged his reputation though.
It's some statement to say he went out of greed.

It's his profession and like anyone, in any profession, renumeration influences decisions.

Yeah, but. For balance. During the pandemic.

Neville's two Manchester hotels will be closed to the public, freeing 176 beds for NHS and other medical staff.

The former United captain said none of his staff will be made redundant or asked to take unpaid leave. (BBC news)

I've always considered Neville one of the good guys with genuine socialist principles and that's exactly the reason why it's so disappointing he's taken a contract with bein sports.

I agree completely and can’t defend it either. Just in case we completely forget the other side.
I would have thought he wouldn’t entertain the idea..but.

Why don't you get the difference between the players and staff who go to represent their country and neville and Lineker who go to represent themselves?
