An old friend was taken in on Saturday with covid-19 symptoms. He tested positive on Sunday and unfortunately succumbed to the disease today. A couple of hours before he died staff helped him to facetime his family and listen to his favourite music.
A big thank you to all those involved.

RIP George and thanks for saving me a fortune over the years fixing all our old bangers.

Sorry to hear that - it seems we are destined for a lot of bad news that is going to hit closer and closer.
Stay safe people
RIP George

RIP George.

Sadly, I think we’ll see a few more posts like this before we can start to think about returning to some form of normality.

Really sad . Condolences.

These hospital people are wonderful.
I am only alive because of their dedication.

My mum and dad died there and the staff were absolutely wonderful, couldn't do enough for us. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss, IAO, sad news indeed and shows the lengths and dedication of our NHS workers in the most difficult of situations.

There is an element of a close friend sucumming to this disease that brings home the reality of the situation. It blows graphs and news conferences out of the water.

My thoughts are with you IAO at this sad time. Also well done James Cook staff.
