Has this relegation scrap given you a new appreciation for the championship

If I'm honest I took the championship for granted and assumed this would be our baseline, this season has made me see we can sink way lower. So from that perspective I do appreciate the championship more than I did.
That was my point you always felt that we were safe in this league.

Saw plenty of people saying the season was over when we were 7 points clear of relegation before the Wigan match, and that we should just play the kids.

They were quickly proven wrong and we've been in a fight for a lives since then.

I'm another thinking we'd always be safe in this league and would be happy enough if the Boro were a well run yo-yo club with a bit of promotion excitment every now and then. Shouldn't get complacent I suppose, especially if you look at some of the teams that have ended up in the 3rd tier.

The championship is an excellent league, with as you say any team can beat others, I have no interest in returning to the PL though for the club to move on then, unfortunately, that's where we have to be

I would the least number of games I have attended in one season is the last ever venture in the PL
Am I the only one who doesn't watch or pay attention to the Championship other than Boro? I just find it boring and don't enjoy it, the last match I watched was Hull v Boro and it was a real chore to sit through even before Hull scored.

I'm in my 30s BTW so was brought up with Juninho et al, didn't experience our last spell in the 3rd tier.
Dont worry mate - theres plenty of years to enjoy the Boro roller - coaster:cool:(y)(y)

To be fair the way bbc tees Boro feed have done it I think does work.
I did enjoy the last game - the two before that, though..... What I meant is that I've been watching other games. Probably not been helped that I've been watching the ones that affect us.

nothing better than watching boro play top sides at the Riverside with a full stadium

The championship is a decent league and competitive, the Premier League is too. When we're in either league (as we have bounced a bit between the two), I've enjoyed both of them. They can both be entertaining for different reasons (Premier maybe better passing football at times, more technical, but the frenetic pace and tough tackling of a champo game is great too).

However, irrespective of league, one thing that makes me enjoy the game and experience more than anything is as per the post above. A packed stadium and good atmosphere. In truth, watching Boro play top sides at Ayresome with a full stadium would be the best, but the Riverside is the next best thing.

It's sad seeing lots of empty seats and times when the atmosphere is a bit limp. To get back to those packed bouncing stadium days we need to be competing top end of the championship or ruffling feathers in the Prem.
