Nowhere near the same player as last year, did he peak too early? He still has a place but I don’t think he will reach those levels again. I’d be looking to replace him this window.

That’s far too hasty to write him off. He’s worth persevering with through this poor run of form given the potential he showed last season. Surely?

Daft attention seeking thread. Has been pretty much our only attacking threat at times over the last 12 mths and has even played well in some games under Carrick.

Time will tell, but I can't help feel that if we do let him go we will regret it somewhere down the road, he needs encouragement maybe like Akpom got to turn around his career.

To be fair Jones has been poor all season, Carricks not daft, he has sussed Jones out and that's why he is now on the bench and not starting games.
To think Jones was unplayable at times last year, and was at times our only spark in a slow paced team, it's unbelievable the change in him now, he has lost all confidence, which is strange when others are improving there form under Carrick.

He's scored a few and created a few so I wouldn't be surprised if he's back in the starting 11 soon. Great attacking outlet

What’s annoying is the nonchalance and smile when he regularly makes mistakes, reminds me of assombolnga in the way he just doesn’t seem to try or care. I’m sure he does but it’s just the body language.

Sorry but you can't judge Jones on that 2nd half. First half we had some decent breaks but in the 2nd half Brighton completely dominated us, we didn't get a sniff.

Absolutely awful - his performance second half was as bad as I have seen and he has had some shockers. Clueless out of possession - simply hides. Pointless in possession - no ideas or footballing nous. An amateur in a professional game. Should never pull our shirt on again. Afforded far too much latitude on here by folk.

Did you even read what I wrote? I said there is still a place for him but we need to bring someone better in. He’s a reasonable substitute to bring on but he’s been poor all season.

The system and way we played under Wilder suited him perfectly at one stage but then teams got wise to it and he even struggled to be effective playing in that system in the end.
The opposition now double up on him which doesn't help but even when he has the chance to run at his man one on one he doesn't seem to have the belief anymore that he can beat his man.

When he’s on it he looks like a premier league footballer in waiting but that’s very few and far between these days. He’s rightly been dropped recently and he hasn’t done anything to warrant a starting spot.
