Watching the Ross Kemp doc last night and it was focussing on those that keep dangerous creatures like snakes and crocodiles, with one bloke keeping over 40 snakes in his terraced house unbeknownst to his neighbours.

so have you ever kept or know of anyone who has exotic/dangerous pets like this.

There'll be a few that won't admit to it........ owners of Pit Bull Terriers fro a start.

Had a piranha for a few weeks, but I was looking after it for someone.
a likely story. Every tracksuit wearing ne'er-do-well on Police Interceptors is always "looking after something for a mate" when they get caught being naughty boys.

To be fair it’s not like a piranha could escape the tank and go and kill your neighbours kid is it.

As vicious as Piranha's can be they won't go a live human and you can comfortably put your arm into a tank full of them. I wouldn't do that whilst holding a bloody steak mind

Mate of mines dad kept alligators and various weird reptilian animals. He had a farm and they were housed in various buildings dotted around. My mate is not a football fan, and one day he came in to work and said "do you know who Mike Hooper is?" "Yeah, the Newcastle keeper". "Yeah he came to my dads last night looking to buy an alligator".

Had a lizard.
Bit me twice .
Swapped it for a calmer chameleon .

I have kept birds of prey (buzzards, sparrowhawks, kestrels & barn owls) but wouldn't put them in the dangerous pets list.

Our lass was talked into bringing home a couple of feral kittens one, they didn't last long. Vicious little shoites, looked like my hand had been in a blender.

The ex wife used to fling objects about when she was upset !
I said your dangerous pet !
Had a close call with a glass ashtray , so she was quickly shown the door with a cash settlement . Worth the loss .
I missed that ashtray .

Really fancied getting a snake when I was younger. Endlessly fascinating creatures although I don't think I'd go for it now.

The cat in my pic is a Maine Coon kitten (in the sense that he is not fully grown yet).

He is a playful fellow but my wife calls him vlf - vicious little $ucker - when he gets too excited and goes into ambush mode as she walks past.

I've owned a corn snake for years, he'll be 15 this year. Really easy to look after and a very placid nature.
The initial setup can be a little expensive, but second hand equipment is always available.
If it's something you've always fancied I'd definitely recommend it.
