I understand the possibility of owing Chelsea a few quid. Also we may have had a clause where we paid them more after a percentage of games or maybe he received a better contract after a set amount of goals. These things we ain't privy too.

We moved him on at a time where we had Braithwaite who was reputedly one of the highest payed players in the champo (according to Tony). Also Downing / Britt / Rudy etc on mega money.

So to sell Paddy to save wages seems bizzare. How about don't sign the likes of Britt / Fletcher and Braithwaite if you already have a decent champo forward.i would imagine they are / were all on similer or more money.

That's just me I guess😉

Then again when Wigan were linked with Shotton it was reported he was one of the biggest earners. If that's that's even remotely true then it proves how disastrous Monks and Pulis signings were in respect of wages.

When Bielsa first came I thought he was a bit of a clown but I now think he deserves a much much bigger club than Leeds, he knows what he is doing no doubt about that.
 
Ref Jack Harrison we hardly played him and 100% should have taken him back in 2018.

Ref : Bamford why didn't he play at the end of 2017/18 season?

Ref Summer of 2018 Hull wanted Fletcher OK on loan, but maybe we should have swapped him for one of their midfielders and saved the £7m outlay for Saville and kept Bamford.

I have defended TP, but he and MFC made mistakes in the summer of 2018.

pulis was a disaster.
It is as simple as that.
To keep what he did, sell what he did, buy what he did and loan what he did is beyond defence.
Massive wage bill on dross.

I hope some salutary lessons have been learned. There is an awful lot we will never ever get to know, I do wonder how much those years of woeful recruitment have wounded us. You'd hope lessons are learned, however we could substitute Monk and Uncle Tony for Southgate and Strachan 10 years ago...

Southgate gets an unnecessary bad press for me. He was a puppet of the owner imho at that time. A head coach, not a manager. He was set up to fail, as was Mogga, wool, pulled over fans eyes springs to mind.
