Harrison and Bamford

Indeed. Thanks Tony.

Anyone that has a clue about footy knew what a good player Bamford was for us. Criminally wasted by Monk and then Pulis, the latter compounding his error by forcing him out.

I think Bamford suits premier league better aswell to be honest. If that makes sense. In my head it does. And Harrison every time I see him I think he is outstanding

Cannot be pining for what might have been . Anyhow it takes 2 Bamfords to make 1 Assombalonga.

Pulis has hinted so many times since that he had to sell players and had to reduce the wage bill. He said many times it was not the players he would have chosen to sell but those where there was a buyer. Leeds wanted Bamford.

yeah that argument would be more believable if he didn't then immediately go out and spend North of £20m on dross in positions we didn't really need. It's nonsense, he didn't fancy bamford and wouldn't have had him as our main centre forward even if money was no object. The man talks a lot of nonsense mostly around making sure he looks good. I'm not buying it for a second.

And as I’ve said so many times Rob I can categorically tell you that Bamford was deliberately forced out of the club by Pulis. Nothing to do with balancing the books.

Just another 'shoutout' for Tony😕👍

He moaned that we had 5 forwards when he came in. We sold the only one you'd want to keep.

He moaned we had no width. Then never played Harrison or RVLP.

He moaned he didn't have the same finances as other managers. Then promptly bought Mcnair / Flint and Saville for 21mil. They are all worth less than we paid. Oh and he brought in expensive loans in Hugill (2mil)and Besic.

I think genuinely most boro fans would have moved on Rudy / Fletcher / Britt / Braithwaite ahead of Paddy. His form during the playoff runing was superb (2 top quality finishes away at Sunderland)

Then dumped out for Rudy against Villa..... Writing on the wall😕

I liked him a lot for us and 3 in 3 is a great start for him. Do I think hes a good Premier League striker? No. He is this seasons Pukki.
My opinion anyway and he is not going anywhere near my Fantasy Team. 😀

Some very expensive mistakes under Monk and Uncle Tony. I would think Mr Gibson is probably kicking himself, given the reality and speed of our decline. I hope some salutary lessons have been learned. There is an awful lot we will never ever get to know, I do wonder how much those years of woeful recruitment have wounded us. Hopefully this pandemic will bring much needed adjustment to spending in the EFL, The Premier League is a whole different matter mind.

The Premier League income is Covid protected as long as they can play. Clubs get the majority of their income from broadcasti monies globally and can be run profitably without gate money.

The whole financial package must of been the right thing for us at the time . Maybe we had to lay Chelsea more cash had he stayed . It’s hard to pass judgement when we’re not 100% clear on the facts , and the odd £5k a week makes a huge difference but a lot of fans don’t seem to appreciate that.
We also would of expected more goals from the likes of Saville but we don’t have the benefit of hindsight.
It’s better to look forward now , atleast were still in the championship and one promotion away from the premier league thanks to warnock . We could of been sat in the 3rd division right now and who knows how many years that could of been if there's any more matches cancelled.

I am 100% clear on the facts.
