Happy birthday Thunderbirds

Thanks Lemmy, enjoyed that, they can create the puppets but IMHO will never create the voice who counts down from 5 to 1, awesome

Definitely reminds me of my childhood. I guess I was watching repeats as not that old lol. I remember thinking how stunning it was considering its puppets (none of this CGI pish).

Throw in Stingray / Captain Scarlet and you've got my dream Saturday Kids TV. Then came along Terrahawks👍. Also a little know Asian import in Star Fleet (badly dubbed😂).

Just good times. The only thing I had to worry about was what to have for breakfast. No mortgages or covid😂

You watch the awful kids TV these days. No imagination or escapism.

Remember going into Binns to get a Tracey island in the year Blue Peter made one. I was lucky I got the second last one. Great toy runway with collapsing palm trees and ramp for TThunderbird 2 (complete with yellow Thunderbird 4) Retracting pool for Thunderbird 3. But no set was complete without the mole even though it only appeared in one episode.

Tracey Island was THE toy to have that Christmas, remember struggling to get my son one, managed to get one just before Christmas day, don't think he played with it more than a handful of times.
It's what parents do though isn't it?

Thanks for the link, great programme.
The shows were repeated regularly when our boys were small, so I got to watch them all over again AND play with the toys. 😊

There's an even better film called 'Filmed in Supermarionation', hosted by Parker and Lady Penelope.
There's a funny bit where they recreate a bit of the Captain Scarlet titles where instead of Captain Black standing in the cemetery, it's Parker.

Alan and Tin Tin were the “Posh and Becks” of the 1960s! If it was nowadays one of the most popular girls names would be Tin Tin!

According to Anderson’s book they based Tin-Tin Kyrano on Jacqueline Kennedy.
Annoyingly in the awful remake they renamed her Kayo.
