With the Leeds Legend Eddie Gray:

Absolute quality striker and loved reading the sports mirror in his heyday...was it juventus he went to and it didnt really work out for him

I always remember being driven by my dad and seeing out of the corner of my eye a Gazette billboard declaring "Rush for Boro ..." ....

Wow! I ran out and got a Gazette .. already dreaming of the goals the Scouse legend would score for the Mighty Boro ..

I quickly turned to the back page and read .. "Rush For Boro Tickets" ..

Jimmy Greaves didnt do too well at AC Milan.
Oh yes he did

9 goals in 10 games

1961A.C. Milan10(9)

His issue was off the pitch as back then people let alone players didn’t travel and he just didn’t settle.

it was nice to see his his shirt in the Milan museum at the San Siro so he is fondly remembered.

Very true. He also clashed with the manager. Greavsie wanted to score goals and the mindset, even with the great Milan, was to get a goal and hold on.

I remember Rush scoring in front of the Holgate. Wondered what all the fuss was about with him but the way he scored that goal from around the penalty spot was a bit special.

Rushie was king back in the 1980s — too bad he (like Best) played for an inferior country as I would have liked to have seen him apply his genius on the world stage.
