Hopefully our local leaders show similar leadership to what Andy Burnham has demonstrated.

Is it really?

And what happens when the hospitals become swamped with covid patients? I can tell you already starting to happen.

I think you mean "if"

There is no guarantee.

What we do know is that a lockdown is the equivalent of kicking a can down the road and hoping for the best but guess what all you do is delay the issue and that can't go on indefinitely. There is no guarantee of any magical unicorn cure. Peoples lives are being ruined.

Today it has been announced that 26k people died at home of none covid issues because they either couldnt go to hospital or were scared to go. Is that a positive result? A glowing endorsement for lockdown? I think not.

I'm not convinced of the lockdown route but I'm not sure what the alternatives are?

If people followed the guidance, If Track & Trace worked maybes no need for lock down but how else do we get back in control?

All this swamping the NHS talk makes me post this:-

See the NHS gets swamped every year, there's a discussion to be had about underfunding for sure but we should not impose even further restrictions based on this argument as we never have before and shock.. we survived.

Ah right lets have a “circuit breaker” then aka as a national lockdown. If your anti local lockdown you must be national

It has become cash for lockdowns.

Johnson has turned it into a battle with non Tory northern politicians, because that’s what he feels most comfortable doing. Next thing the virus will be Labour’s fault.

I think the first lockdown was understandable because there was a lot of fear around.

I think it’s now hard to see where it is all going.

That is last years figures minus covid. So you should assume the same again plus covid this time round.

100%

Preston wants another piece of the pie. He’s not bothered about the areas being in tier 3, he, like Burnham, just wants the cash.

If as much effort was put into ensuring the initial lockdown was effective in the first place then it wouldn’t have been so easy for it to get out of control again, and we’d all have some sense of normality in our lives.
