Halftime at Hillsboro

It felt like the true low. It was amazing how bad we were in that first half against what look like the worst team in the division. I genuinely started to fear for us then.

Amazing turnaround. One game at a time

I was there and as a solid Carrick fan I was really worried at half time, it had been dire. Could hardly believe the turnaround. We've improved since then but compared to the first 45, it was like he'd plugged the team in to the mains.

I genuinely thought we were getting relegated. I thought we had been spineless & bereft of any ideas in the home games...then that was just a horror show. The recovery has been remarkable.

I was ill as a dog and watching that first 45 made me feel worse. Could barely muster a celebration when Leinhan scored. But when Izzy came out after the game and said we needed that goal and it was our confidence booster, everybody laughed at him. Turns out he was spot on, they've never looked back since and he's been on fire

How ill are dogs and what do you treat them with?

My dog once nicked a load of chocolate and was very ill.

Rumour has it chocolate contains a stimulant called theobromine (dark chocolate has the highest content of this) which is toxic to dogs and can cause kidney failure.

My dopey dog just puked up a lot.

I actually said on here that I felt the turning point was Blackburn away, we were significantly improved in the final half hour and whilst Hillsborough wasn't a win, it was our first point on the board and an actual improvement. Since then it's been almost too easy, but I noticed a change in the closing stages of the Blackburn match.

No it was half time at shef wed as that first half was beyond horrific.

But well it’s a lot better now.

I threw that question into Chat GPT and this is what it came up with:

The phrase "I'm as sick as a dog" is an idiomatic expression that is used to describe someone who is feeling extremely ill or unwell. The origins of this expression are a bit unclear, but it likely comes from the idea that dogs can sometimes become very sick, and when they do, their symptoms can be quite severe.

Dogs can vomit, have diarrhea, or exhibit other unpleasant symptoms when they are unwell, and their sickness can be very noticeable and distressing. People may have observed these symptoms in sick dogs and used the phrase "sick as a dog" to describe someone who is experiencing similarly severe symptoms of illness.

It's important to note that this is just a commonly accepted explanation for the phrase's origin, and there isn't a definitive historical source for it. Idioms often develop over time and may not have a clear, documented origin. Regardless of its exact origins, "I'm as sick as a dog" is a way to convey the idea of feeling very unwell or having severe symptoms of illness

Well, in your opinion maybe. The first half at Hillsborough wasn't good, but it wasn't as bad as Ewood. In my opinion, it was a more gradual improvement, the seeds of which I saw towards the end at Ewood. We don't all have to see exactly the same thing.

Oh I think it was his was sheff wed a side devoid of any talent or any real spark all season and they took us to the cleaners in that first half.

But as I say we’ve moved on.

Btw my point is that the tempo Changed at half time at hillsboro and it’s been that way ever since hence turning point.

It was like flicking a switch.

yeah after first half at Shef Wed (even the second half was not the best lol ) and first half at Ewood I was starting to get a bit worried lol

I don’t think we’ll ever truly know what happened in those 15 mins but by god we look a different side since then.

Friend of mine is a Wednesday ST holder.
He said, after the game - we will have no trouble staying up……

Think he might be right
