Big job on , that’s a full team .

Which begs the question, what the hell is Kieran Scott doing? There doesn't look like there's any long term strategy when you look at that list.

Vaguely watching the Burnley game and heard this stat.

Sheff U have been in the play offs in various divisions nine times. Of those times, promotions: zero.

I can't think of anything more depressing than watching this team in the premier league. We would have to do what Forest did a few years ago and spend huge.

We would likely go down as the worst premier league team in history.
It wouldn’t be this team. It would be a team with significant investment. Notwithstanding that fact, it’d be a damn site better than watching another season of mediocrity at this level. We’d be much better placed to compete the year we came down as well.

He’s buying players to try and realise a profit in a couple of seasons rather than hunt players that have the exact attributes the team need.

The reality is sinking in that the team promoted from this bunch will get spanked every week and end up with 1 point if lucky, basically a laughing stock in the PL, so they're all scrapping not to be promoted. Plus, half the team will be sacked along with the manager before Christmas. Therefore, it's far better to stay in the comfort zone of 7-8th in the champo.. the ideal position competing for the play-offs but not quite there yet. Best to think of it like this.

Sheff Utd: doom and gloom they want Wilder out team is suffering due to fitness and sheer tiredness. Also believe they have a Wembley curse:

Sunderland: describing team as ponderous, lost their way and over resting. Ironically they don’t feel confident about playoffs either.

Bristol: Fans are discussing potential negative outcomes in the final match of the season, expressing concerns about the team’s form and the implications for playoff qualification. While some maintain hope for a positive result, the overall tone reflects apprehension about the challenges ahead.

Cov: Sky Blues Talk is a blend of frustration and cautious optimism. Fans express disappointment over recent performances, particularly the struggle against Plymouth, and voice concerns about the team’s ability to secure a playoff spot. One fan describes them as “pussies”

So maybe we’re all just panicking as one of these teams plus us will be in the premier league next year…
They are all saying that because they are out of form like the boro
But Bristol, Coventry and boro do not deserve a playoff spot because all three of us are bang average mid table teams at best in a normal championship season

Sheff Utd - Will probably benefit from the league now being tied up. They can rest, recover and be ready for he play offs. Im hoping the negative for them is Chris Wilder himself.
Sunderland - At risk of what we did a couple of season's ago. Foot off the gas, rotating knowing their place is safe. Real risk of losing any form/momentum and not turning up when it matters

Whoever the other two are will be on a high because its likely to go down to the final game. The weakness is well, none of us are that great, consistent and are prone to mistakes so keeping it together for three intense & tough games will cast doubt over all of them.

We couldn't afford to buy anywhere near the quality and numbers it would take to compete at that level. We would need z complete overhaul and there'll be nowhere near enough investment to do that, not even close.

Good recruitment needed , and you don’t need to spend big , just wisely on the right players .
No hopeful punts like Gilbert , Hamilton , Bangura , Engel , Burgzorg , edmundson , Hoppe , eahanacho , Giles , Whittaker .

VDB , Morris , iling , Azaz , Lathe , Rogers , Travers have been good signings , we would need similar quality.

Less of the scatter gun approach and more of getting the right players in who are going to hit the ground running at the beginning of the season, we have had terrible starts due to chopping, changing, trying to bed players in from foreign lower leagues, young players who struggle, who are clearly not up to the demands of the championship, its cost us a lot of points and from there we are playing catch up....quality not quantity is needed to have a real go at automatic promotion.

As bad as Leicester, Ipswich and especially Southampton have been in the PL - I can't see past them finishing top 3 next season.
Ipswich will lose Delap and were (IMO) lucky to go up so although they will have pots of money they will have to spend it. I watched them play the other day and Morsy is still a yellow card waiting to happen and the rest apart from Delap were no great shakes. Lester are an ageing side, reportedly in big financial trouble. There will be a fire sale of anyone who can command a fee of any size so we have no idea what their side will look like next season. Might be good, probably won't be. Southampton again will have to sell anyone who has caught the eye in the PL and will probably need a new manager either in the close season or after a month or so.

Compared to Leeds, Sheff Utd and Burnley this season I think they will all be weaker than those three.

You don't luckily earn automatic promotion with 96 points.

It should be apparent that we are all much of a muchness by looking at the league table. I mean, every single playoff contender from 3rd to 7th lost at the weekend. Only one of them to anyone decent. One of them is still going up though. And at least three of them, and probably four, are making the playoffs.

You've missed McGree off your list, been as much use as a chocolate fireguard these last two seasons. El sick note needs to be off the books this summer!!

They’ve got 1 point from 4 games and failed to score in 3 of those games. They’ll need to dramatically improve.
They are likely to suffer the problem we had when we made the playoffs with plenty of games to spare.

We garaged the side ready for the playoffs. Then couldn't get the thing started again. Descended into a shambles.

Sunderland fans I know are bricking it, although relieved that Burnley and Leeds are out of the equation.

We’ve basically been playing reserves in most of the games and have put in pre-season levels of intensity.

It’s been awful to watch, but he’s basically looking to be able to put out the best team (or close to) in the play offs. Two years ago in the play offs we had a big defence injury crisis which meant Luton bullied us.

I can understand why RLB is doing it, but it’s a big risk losing all form at this stage. Then again, none of the sides 3rd to 7th are in good form, and the others have been putting out strong sides…
