Hayden Hackney was presented the Young Player of the Year accolade at last night's North East Football Writers Awards Dinner.
The Boro youngster collected the prestigious prize at Sunday's annual event, which was hosted at Ramside Hall in Durham.
It comes after a breakout year from the Redcar-born midfielder, who has become a mainstay in Michael Carrick's midfield.
Hackney is the sixth Boro player to win the award, following in the footsteps of fellow Academy graduates David Wheater, Joe Bennett, Jason Steele, Ben Gibson and Marcus Tavernier.
Newcastle's Kieran Trippier won Player of the Year, while Durham Women and Northern Ireland defender Sarah Robson claimed the women’s senior award for the third year in a row.
